Huge update on a project long overdue and sitting for many months. Finally grew some balls and spent an entire evening and night finishing him up. Pretty proud of how this one turned out; what lighting should I use on display this year?

Ive been posting a lot recently but I have lots to share. Finished up a new bog zombie, and here’s some nighttime shots of the 2 together. Stay tuned, I have many unfinished projects to complete

Quick demonstration of how I make my standing prop bases to withstand the wind and rain. PVC poles slide into the drilled leg blocks through the bottom of the base, while sliding over stakes that can be screwed into place for extra stability.

This has been tested many times, and I’ve left props out in near tornado weather and it won’t budge. For extreme wind, adding an extra sandbag on the base will help too.

Took some advice that my swamp zombie needed more foliage and plant matter. Upgrade or downgrade?

Closer look at my new bog zombie groundbreaker prop

Quick project to fill more space in my yard for my forest/bog theme, and to use an old animation I had. I really ended up liking this one, I wasn’t sure about the green stained flesh at first

I spent 3 hours trying to get this new belt on. I looked at some tutorials and most said to remove the nut on the engines left clutch wheel to slide the belt on, and it’s torqued down so tight I can’t get it off at all. My drill will not reach there either with the bar blocking. I also tried pulling the spring open and walking the belt on, but I can’t force it with that either.

What can l do?

I had issues staking down the cross that originally went with this corpse so I decided to build out a base and make it a walker. Also did this cool lichen effect using spray paint

Do I leave the clothes as is? Or add some plant matter shag draped on the outside?

Took the mechanism from Lady Misfortune from Spirit Halloween and built a sturdier base. The pvc piece holding the aluminum tube goes to the bottom and slides over a piece of rebar, and I bolted the pipe to the aluminum and the wood to lock it all in place.

Next step is weatherproofing the electronics and building the groundbreaker prop itself

It’s done. Now I can put it away until it’s time to bring stuff out to lawn 😂

This project took me way to long. I broke many things and bought many replacement parts and I’m relived it’s finally just about done. I’ll do a night shoot and add a motion sensor with audio and it’s ready to go out into the yard!

About ready to call this done. Just adding some audio and doing a night shoot and I’m good. I spent endless time breaking things and buying replacement parts it’s a relief to be finished. What do we think?

I am going crazy…. figuring out what these are. I’ve reverse image searched, googled, and read articles and I can’t find this specific pair of shorts anywhere. They appear to be early 2000s judging by the international flags tag, and there are a few similar pairs with the Adidas/cubs collab online, but none with the monochrome white embroidery.

Based on Googles answers there’s 2 possible theories. A: it’s custom embroidered by a fan just for fun. Or B: it’s promotional gear made for a charity/one-off event. That could explain why it not up on retail or the secondhand market.

If anyone knows anything about these please let me know.

Finally got my perma-blood in the mail and immediately went to work. The blood definitely upgraded the before, and pops with the white sheets. I may add some more molding to the sheets and I’ll do one last outdoor scene shoot.

What color lighting when it’s on display?

I was given this old standing witch prop for free, and repurposed it because it was in pretty bad shape. Here’s a timeline of the progress, still needs some gluing and blood around the bandage and eyes.

The idea is a spirit being punished for its misdeeds on earth by being blinded and forced to roam using the eyes on its hands to see. Suggestions?

Finishing up these 4 tombstones and I’m not happy with the first 3 at all. The stone texture is fine but I feel it’s missing something and I don’t like the black wash I did on the lettering.

Does anyone have any tips for carving neater lettering on styrofoam? I tried melting with a sauntering iron and carving with a router but the letters are still throwing off the look
