Tips for Weak Writer

Hello All!

I’ve gotten back into drawing comics the past year. Always been more of an artist but I’m motivated to create some short 4,8,or 12 page stories to self publish. Not trying to break in to the industry. I just love comics. So looking to create small projects.

However I’m having trouble generating some idea for stories. I was never much of a creative writer, more utilitarian.

He used some story prompt spinning wheels online. They will give you a setting genre, and a conflict to work from. But honestly they don’t seem to generate much excitement in terms of projects.

Do any talented writers here have tips to someone trying to start improving their story and and character skills? And generally increase their creativity output?

Thanks!

ITS OUR RIGHT!

It’s our legal right to ride in the lane of traffic on a local road!

Riding along Ford and need to make a turn left to get home. Check my blind spot, see no cars close and exit the bike lane. Take the full lane. Going just shy of 20 with front and rear lights on. I signal I’m turning into the left hand turn lane.

Some jerk honks his horn at me cause he’s stuck behind me. and as I get into the turn lane he slows down his huge Toyota SUV leans out the window and says in a high pitched snidely voice.

“YoU sHouLd riDE iN tHe bIkE lAne!”

I curse him out even though I know it’s a bad decision and potentially dangerous. But these type of drivers fucking suck!

All my bad driver interactions in the two Twin Cities have been in Saint Paul. A guy died 2 blocks from my house getting doored on a freaking bike blvd.

So frustrating to decide to live in a walkable area and then shitty folks make it impossible to enjoy because they don’t think about anyone else besides themselves and their vehicle.

Days like this I wish I drank. Grrrrrrrrrahhhh!

End of Rant.

Hey Ya'll,

Wanted to give you a heads up about this cycling event on May 16th

Minneapolis Parks is putting on a "choose your own adventure" ride aimed at young riders! Participants meet at Lake Nokomis beach house and get a ride handbook that has a map, list of locations to ride too, some ride info, and space to get stamps.

Riders can see how many spots they can get to before the after party at 2:30. If you plan on riding with your younger cyclists, the whole route would be 12 miles as the crow flies.

After party features food and music with games! Still room to sign up!
