Synthetic Ice and Blade Hollow

Had this thought but was unable to find anything in this Reddit about it

I’ve skated on synthetic ice before and hated it. But thinking about getting some for the garage for shooting.

But then had a thought: I wonder if having a shallower blade hollow would make it feel a little more realistic.

I currently have a 5/8” hollow on ice. Thinking about getting my extra set sharpened to a 3/4” or 7/8”

Does anybody have any experience with this? Does it work, or no?

I know next to nothing about when to bake and when not to bake. Do the CCM Jetspeed FT850R inline skates contain material that would benefit from baking? Or no

For those of you that grew up playing hockey, accumulating years and different levels of warm ups, routines, etc — what’s your 5ish minute routine you’ll never skip when getting on the ice.

More context:

I’m a lifelong (36yo) basketball player turned hockey player.

I want to create a quick, easy routine that I can do every time I get on the ice, whether it’s for empty ice free skate, stick n puck, or a game.

For a basketball example, every time I get on the court, whether for pick up or a real game I have the following routine:

Make 5 at each spot

- right hand only shot on the right side of the goal standing in the paint

- left hand only shot on the left side of the goal standing in the paint

- straight on, middle of the paint, regular form-focused shot

- free throws
