McGill Ridge heating??

I am moving to McGill Ridge studio apartment and I was wondering if heating is included. If anyone has stayed with them before, would appreciate any feedback.

I am aware that hot water is, though I will have to pay for my own electricity and WiFi.

If heating is not included would that be included in my electricity bill? And what is the estimated price you believe to be monthly for utilities (minus WiFi). Thanks!!

1L study resource

Is there any study equivalent to Quimbee, Studicata, Lexplug, etc? I realize that these are mostly for US law student. But I was wondering if any of you used something similar or a resource that help further your understanding. Bonus points if they have videos included.

How to be a B+ student

Hello all,

I hope you are all doing well. I will be going to TRU law this September and I aim to have an average of B+ (77-79), towards the end of my first year.

How achievable is this? Do you have any tips on what I can do to achieve such range? I would be incredibly grateful if you can share anything that worked for you.

Thank you

1L nerves

Hi all,

I hope everyone is having a good day. I am an incoming TRU law student. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to pursue an education. However, I can’t help myself being soooo nervous for first year and law school in general. I have major anxiety and I am worried that I will “lose” myself and my mental health will decline during law school.

I keep on reading about how law school is very hard, stressful, etc. How much truth is there to that statement. Is it even in the slightest exaggerated??

Also how can I do well in my 1L? Do you have any tips or anything that you can share? That would allow me to do well but also not lose myself in the process?

Thank you all

Residence

Hello! I am an incoming law student at TRU. I was wondering if anyone can share housing tips that are near campus? I am looking for a studio. One that doesn’t require guarantor by chance. Would appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

Student loans

I know that it is recommended to apply for student loans at least 6-8 weeks.

I am a Nova Scotia resident and currently on UNB WL. If I hopefully hear back next week or let’s say Aug 15. Would it be too late to be able to apply for provincial and federal student loans?? I am so worried.

Can you switch your student loans to another school?

I recently got accepted to Queens and I am waiting for Dalhousie.

When I got accepted to Queens I applied for provincial and federal loans. (For context I'm Nova Scotian).

I am currently on Dal WL. If I get accepted to Dal and I release Queens. How would I go about switching my loans so it would go to Dal instead of Queens?

Because I believe that the calculation of the student loan would be now different since I’m closer to home.

Loans

Hi all,

I am not sure how I will be funding my law school journey. If any of you can offer any advice or what you will be doing I would greatly apperciate it. I am so lost... also if you can answer, how much has the federal+prov loan provided you in terms of loans per year? and where did you get the rest if it was not enough? thank you very much.

UNB WL

Hi all, On April I was WL from UNB. I have a 4.25/4.3 cgpa with drops and a 153 lsat. I am from NS. I know that my lsat is low, I already am studying to retake the lsat. But just wanted to jump on here and see what is my possible chance of getting off the WL. UNB has always been my dream and with every passing day it seems to be a bit more far and stressful :(

hope everyone is doing well and gl with your cycle!
