Ok so, as read the Alchemical Crossbow is just a normal crossbow with a device strapped on that allows you to insert a "bomb" and then coat your next 3 bolts in the bomb juice for extra damage during a short period of time. The cost of this is reducing the crossbow's range to 1/4 of standard, and obviously gold.

So my question, is there any reason the Alchemical Bomb Juice deceive shouldn't be treated as a weapon upgrade that can be applied to other crossbows?

Like would you allow a character in your party to build an Alchemical Heavy Repeating Crossbow? Or an Alchemical Sukgung?

So I'm kind of new to pathfinder 2e, used to play 1e back in the day but i just joined a new group.

Read up on the Thaumaturge class and its seems fun, my party is min-maxed for damage and healing so i figured i would go for a utility support build. I'm going for the vibe of a gypsy mystic who collects and sells spooky items.

Here is what i have so far:

Dexterity/Charisma focus Earthly Wilds Kitsune with Foxfire feat, for the natural attacks using the magic hand wraps to keep my hands free. strength is my dump stat.

Multiclass Sorcerer: Harrow bloodline, really leaning into "my magic comes from items" schtick, plus i can use spells like Augury to tell fortunes over a crystal ball in a tent.

Implements: Mirror, Lantern, Amulet ... in that order

for other feats i'm planning on going deep into the Scroll Thaumaturgy tree

Spells are going mostly be things other than damage, buff and debuff spells, maybe some illusions. basically anything that can't be done with mundane tools/weapons.

for skills i was thinking a mix of social and lore skills, not sure which ones yet.

I know its kind of vague but what do you guys think? Am i setting myself up for failure?

Do you have any advice?

Got some great advice. Here are some changes:

Implement: Mirror, Regalia, Tome, order TBD

Skills: Diplomacy, Deception, Intimidation, Performance (Acting)

Feats: Bon Mot, Scroll Thaumaturgy tree

Architypes: Scroll Trickster then Sorcerer Harrow Bloodline
