How do you carry a laptop safely on 30+ hour bumpy bus rides? (Heading to Leh soon)

Hey everyone,

(Full disclosure: I used AI to help me structure this post because my anxiety about this trip is real!)

I am traveling to Leh soon by bus, and it is going to be a brutal 30-hour ride. I need to bring my laptop with me, but I am absolutely terrified of breaking it due to the constant vibrations, crazy bumps, and rough mountain roads.

For those who frequently take long, rugged bus journeys, how do you pack and protect your tech?

  • Do you keep it in your main backpack or a separate daypack?
  • Should I leave it in the overhead bin, or keep it at my feet/on my lap the whole time?
  • Are hard cases worth it, or is wrapping it in clothes safer?

I have no idea how to pull this off without ending up with a cracked screen or dead drive. Any packing hacks, gear recommendations, or survival tips for both me and my laptop would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Delhi diesel car completing 10 years next year. Can I legally transfer it to Uttarakhand? If yes, how?

Hi everyone,

(Full disclosure: I used AI to help me structure and write this post clearly so I don't miss any critical details).

I need some advice regarding my Delhi-registered diesel car. It is completing 10 years next year. This means it will hit the NGT-mandated end-of-life limit for diesel vehicles in Delhi NCR.

The car is in excellent mechanical condition. I really do not want to scrap it. I am planning to transfer it to Uttarakhand (UK) since the 10-year ban does not apply there.

Has anyone successfully done this recently? I have a few specific questions:

  1. Is it legally possible? Can I still get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Delhi RTO before the exact 10-year mark hits?
  2. What is the process? What are the step-by-step procedures for getting the NOC from Delhi and re-registering it in Uttarakhand?
  3. Address Proof: I don't personally reside in Uttarakhand. Can I transfer it to my father's name who lives there, or do I need local address proof in my own name?
  4. Road Tax: Will I have to pay the full road tax again in Uttarakhand, or is it pro-rated?

Any guidance, timelines, or hidden challenges I should look out for would be highly appreciated. Thank you!
