Coaches record is starting to make sense

Coach dying on his "Allen made a great decision to throw the game losing interception" hill claiming it was a great read while a receive to the right was wide open with the nearest defender 10+ yards away perfectly explains why he has a .413 record as a coach in the NFL, and never won a playoff game.

He needs a new hobby instead of defending terrible QB play. Maybe Tomlin can get him into Minecraft.

Ice Man was fantastic

I loved everything about the bit. Straight from the start with that costume, to the camera transitions, to telling Wildes that he looked ridiculous.

Honestly if they did the bit again, it would get really old really quick, so hopefully it was a onetime thing, or used very sparingly.

I just wish Danny Parkins was on set to enjoy it and meet Ice Man.

Degrees in cybersecurity creates incompetence in cybersecurity

I was legit the first graduating class in the US to have a B.S. in cybersecurity. My first job was a F500 and everyone was shocked to see me in the room because it's historically been for people half way out the door, trying to retire with 5-10 years of fat(er) paychecks.

I quickly learned that while the concepts I learned in school applied and were valuable, this was also because no one took security seriously at all, so the "best practices" didn't really exist, or weren't well known. We're talking early 2000's.

My best friend happens to work for a major insurance company, in the cybersecurity department. We've had plenty of long conversations, and basically it comes down to the fact that the more companies who are hiring young security people with B.S. degrees, the more incompetent those companies are in their security department, and the less coverage and payouts they end up getting because of this.

These days, your 20 years industry experience is far more valuable, and everyone knows the core concepts around security just being in the industry that long, so not only is the degree over saturating the market, its also making companies less secure in general, as managers put blind faith in someone with a diploma that says they're an expert, over the experts that paid their dues through decades of experience.

I'm curious what other people think about the quality of work you get out of graduates. I always discourage getting a cybersecurity degree, and think everyone should get a much broarder one, especially since I think it's bad to start off in a niche education when you don't even know what security really is, and many may want to go down a different path after they have 5+ years in the industry.

Disclaimer: I got out early for greener pastures, and you know insurance people, so I'm curious if you see this in person, half my information is hear-say.

Opinions on the future of the 718

Sorry if this is something that's asked a million times a day.

My goal since childhood was to own a Porsche some day, and I could have very easily done so years ago, but I still care about being financially responsible.

My game plan was to pay off my DD in 2 years, then trade in my s2000 for a Boxster S. My backup is the Z4m40i. I've tracked it a few times, it's pretty fun, but it's not my dream. Anyways, it looks like they're done making the 718. I can't build them on the website or anything, and going to car sales sites, there's only like 2-3 that meet my criteria.

Do you think Porsche's really going to ruin the Boxster and go only electric? If so, that most likely means the current ones, especially the last few years are going to skyrocket in value, no?

I wonder if I should just pull the trigger now, even though I'm not ready, just so I can get a pure Porsche that I can afford.

Technically, I wouldn't be living paycheck to paycheck or anything, I just want 1 car bill and my "next car downpayment" cash is doing great in the stock market, so I don't want to take it out and miss 2 years of probable gains.

Savable and downloadable prefabs

Everyone here complaining about small petty things like parking a ship next to a dock. Come on, stop wasting the devs time with that. Let's get into something that everyone would really enjoy.

Can we have more than 3 prefabs, and the chance to create/save and share prefabs among the community?

I've seen some pretty awesome designs and buildings. I can't even build a square hut without screwing up the roof and having gaps. Let's enable the sharing of community designs, and encourage more creativity!
