'04 Pilot Rapid Clicking No Crank
Hey guys, my first Pilot here. I'm pretty mechanically inclined but electrical gives me the heebie jeebies. Got this pilot a while back and needed a bunch of gaskets and new fluids - no big deal. Runs good after all that. Then I leave it parked for a week and battery dead. I bought it with a 9 year old battery, no big deal. Its at 10.5V and doesn't jump with my box or vehicle. Before a new battery, I swap in a 2 year old good battery (12.6V cold) from my other car and that's when things get funky. I get very rapid clicking and lights and gauges go crazy. One slow crank in the beginning then all the clicking. I troubleshoot as far as seeing the starter solenoid gets 12.6V at its connections. Whacking it doesn't help this time. Alone so nobody to test while I'm starting.
I'd rather exhaust my diagnostics before installing a new battery and starter solenoid / starter. Do you guys have any thoughts? Again, engine started strong and ran good before it sat for a week - nothing concerning prior to this. Thanks
