Finally got my hands on some X-Pac X11, although had to order an obscene amount to get it in the UK. This is the first pack produced using it.

• Mountain Brown X11 with Coyote Brown UltraStretch front, side and bottom pockets.
• Gear loop on the bottom with corresponding bungee near the top.
• Compression straps on both sides.
• Roll top with poppers and a single strap using a G-Hook.
• Rear top pocket with key loop and YKK AquaGuard zips.
• All inside seams trimmed and bound.
• Padded S-Straps using 4mm 85kg/m3 EVA foam and 600D Nylon.
• Back is padded with same foam and 600D Nylon.
• Removable sternum strap.
• 3D printed thumbs pulls designed and printed by me.
• Webbing Keepers also designed and 3D printed by me.
• Works out at about 26L and weighs in at 720g.

Really happy with the final results!

Finally a full box of Rapid’s in 0.35 to fill in the gaps!

Also picked up the Kitera 0.5 and the Writoll 0.3 and 0.5, to add to the search for decent double knock pencils. Whilst the Kitera feels great with good balance and weight, the mechanism is soft with no click when popping out the tip. The Writoll however, is very similar to the Rapid with a good clear click but is very light. Both good additions but my favourite double knock remains the Rotring Rapid.

Trying out the Uni Shift for the first time and some more Rapids to add to the collection, these in 0.35.

The gods of Mechanical Pencils have shined on me with this find. The search for a box of 0.35 continues…

Found this online and thought I’d give it a try. For the princely sum of £6.82 can’t really go wrong.

Has a full metal body so has a nice weight to it with a nice grip. Mechanism seems fine after a few scribbles, will swap out for some decent lead which should improve it. The retractable tip works as a lot do, by pushing it back in.

Best retractable tips so far are the Rotring Rapid (not the Pro) followed by the Rotring 800. The search continues.
