1st Trip for Wife’s 50th

Hello friends! Mid 50s. Midwest. Neither of us have been east of Ohio. For and added 50th bday present to her, I’m hoping to take her to NY for a few days. Probably arrive early Thurs- Sunday (fri-Monday, etc). I know it can’t all be done. Would like to see Natural History Museum, Met Museum of Art, Empire State Bldg. otherwise flexible. Leisurely pace.

Can it be done for <$2k? (Midwest salary). Most flights go to LaGuardia or Newark (?) that I see . Any advice welcome!

Why aren’t tornadoes more common in places other than the Midwest and the South?

I watched a you tube video last night suggesting tornado alley was moving somewhat. In it, they mentioned the unique conditions in the US resulting in an unstable atmosphere making tornadoes more common here. Specifically, cold dry air coming off the Rockies meets warm humid air off the Gulf along with some warm dry air coming from the southwest and Mexico. I thought for a bit, and India and Bangladesh came to mind. Why isn’t that place tornado city?! They have warm humid air off the Indian Ocean (I assume because of the latitude), cold dry air off the Himalayas, and warm dry air from the desert they have in Western India. Why don’t they have tons of tornadoes? Is it related to the monsoon season they have?

Edit: I’m not a meteorologist. Just find it interesting, so I don’t have a background except living in tornado alley > 50 years. Some of the concepts, I don’t have a basic education in beyond what was taught in the 70s and 80s.

This isn’t a ‘what should I buy’ post. It’s a ‘is this model having some problems now like a similar model’ post.

I had an SE 2020 for over 5 years until it started crashing 6 months ago. I switched to a relative’s old SE 2022. After a couple months, I began having some glitches and lagging with it. At some point, I mistakenly updated to IOS 26. Don’t know if that’s the problem. I’ve still got about 55gb of storage left. I love the pocket size of the SE. I started looking at used 13 minis for the size but learned they use the same chip as the SE 2022, an A15. Does that mean the 13 mini is starting to have similar issues as the SE, or is there something different about the 13 mini allowing it to run great now despite the age and same chip?
