iPhone 13 to 13 mini

Should I buy 13 mini? I have iPhone 13 currently. Will I regret?
I am not concerned about smaller battery. But yes I do use phone to watch social media and YouTube and typing. Will the smaller screen make it difficult to type and see content or will I enjoy the smaller screen??

Please share your experiences

Update to iOS26?

I bought a new, factory-sealed iPhone 13 mini. It came with iOS 16 preinstalled, and I updated it to iOS 18. Should I stick with iOS 18, or should I upgrade to iOS 26? I don't particularly like Liquid Glass. It looks cool, but it's too distracting and takes attention away from the content. But I probably can't stay on iOS 18 forever, can I?

What is the best iOS version for the 13 mini?

Hi everyone, iPhone 13 mini user here. Which iOS version are you using, and how has your experience been?
I'm on 18.7.8; my 13 mini is super fast (like new), there's no overheating—contrary to reports I've heard—and the battery still lasts all day. So, I don't think it's worth the risk of updating, right? (Battery health is at 100%; I replaced it with a genuine one.)

Sticking with the 12 mini!!

Hello people. A few weeks ago i posted here asking whether i should upgrade to 13 mini or stick to 12 mini by repairing the camera as it had some issues. Initially I was thinking of going for the iphone 13 mini but i found a genuine camera module and got it fixed for a total of 40$. And im gonna stay with this phone till the end of time now. I had changed the battery like 6 months ago as well. Just wanted to share this because im very happy. 😁

Got new battery

I was at 80% health, charging more than once per day. Made Genius Bar appointment at Apple Store in Freehold, NJ. Seamlessly replaced (sans screen protector, which had been cracked earlier) in two hours. $95.

How common is damage during battery replacement?

Let’s say i’ll get the 13 Mini battery replaced at an Apple store. What are my chances the phone survives 100% (no broken screen, no scratches, looks exactly as before)? 99%, 95%, ….? I am just looking for guesses since nobody (except Apple) has the exact numbers.

Just had battery replaced

Hi guys! Just had a battery replacement carried out through Apple. Was a quick and straightforward process. Cost £85 (as I'm in the UK). Already, I can feel that the phone is much snappier and faster (which is a bit strange). I'll evaluate the position over the next few days. Previously, I was on 81% , but the cycle count was like 914 cycles, which was a bit crazy, only giving me around 2-3 hours of life no joke. Let's see how the change fares out

iPhone mini died!

My 4 year old mini died - it was working and then an hour later the screen was black. I’ve been reading other posts with the same issue. Anyone else have this happen? And solutions? Any predictions on whether it would happen again if I bought a new one?

4 Years Later Finally Replaced My Battery

Still holding out for the return of the Mini even though it doesn’t look likely at least anytime soon. How long do you guys think I can keep using this phone before I’m forced to upgrade?

I upgraded to a 17

I got a 17 delivered yesterday and kinda don’t like it. It’s bigger and heavier and I had to buy new chargers too. I may keep my mini and give this to my daughter.

Size comparison pic with cases on.

New mini

Y’all, is it worth spending $600 for a new unopened mini? Someone on eBay is selling it. It was a replacement for when they lost their phone and they also have the receipt up.

My SE3’s about to go - what model (still directly available from Apple) best approximates it?

I’m currently using an SE3 on iOS 18, and I really hate that I’m going to have to upgrade.

The two main reasons I love my SE3: 1) small size for small hands, 2)light weight. Also the home button, but nothing I can do about that.

Other people who had to leave behind their small phones: what should I go with?

13 mini eulogy

So I think this is the end for my 13 mini. At 75% battery health it needs three charges a day, while charging it gets super hot. When it heats up texting lags and words load a few seconds later, apps perform super glitchy. My area is in a heat wave right now and the phone simply can’t handle basic tasks when taken out of the pocket in the sun. It did a lot better in the cold weather honestly. I lose reception when driving through woods for a few seconds on phone calls. I tried to get the battery replaced but my volume up button is broken beyond repair so they can’t put it in diagnostic mode. Seems like nobody will work on it because of that.

Every time I go to take a picture, my camera is REALLY dirty. I have to work pretty hard to smudge everything off! I love this phone, have it on iOS 18, but it is literally dying. It is stressful to travel with this phone I need to have two battery packs with me at all times, which negates the weight and form factor.

AI (Gemini) nukes my battery like no other. Even on iOS 18 this phone barely works but I guess it would help if I had a new battery. Trading it back to my phone company even in this state will take at least $200 off my new iPhone, planning to stick it out for the 18 pro. There’s a good deal on a new 13 mini 256gb near me, but it would be cool to upgrade and have that new satellite chip. I honestly might need to do a factory reset just to make it to September in a way I can use the phone reliably. In this phones long life span, it is finally kicking the bucket.

1st month in going back to 13 mini

I switched to the 13 mini from the Air and can't go back!

I'm a little over a month in with this green 13 mini I purchased on eBay for $180. I was specifically looking for a mini that had a purchase date less than 4 years ago so I could add Apple Care One, and I finally found one. The device had 81% battery health when I got it and after a month in it dipped below 80% which made it eligible for a free battery replacement. Got the replacement done three days ago and now the phone works like new. Before the battery replacement I was able to get through an entire day and now it's around a day and a half.

My usage: I don't use social media at all and have a 1hr Safari screen time limit. I deleted all preloaded apps I don't need and installed the 3 apps I actually use Spotify, Google Maps, and Outlook.

I got the Air last September and enjoyed it for the most part, but the size always bothered me. I used it with the same set up and it didn't seem like a good value. A big screen $1000 phone to run 3 basic apps is overkill.

If you're thinking of getting a 13 mini in 2026 and use your device similarly, I recommend it. Try to find one that's eligible for Apple Care One.

What do you think, when the new mini iPhone will be released?

I really love my 13 mini except the amount of RAM (I like multitasking and its annoying when apps reloads). I just replaced the battery with a new one and the SOT is like new. I think I will use it for 3-4 more years, but I would upgrade any time if a new mini phone would be released. What do you think? Will the society look for smaller phones in the future, because of digital detox or the phone manufacturers will realase only phablets in the near future? I dont get it, why people only want huge phones?! Those are not comfortable in the pockets, hands etc. People with good eyes, can make the font much much smaller than the normal, and the same amount of text can fit to an iphone 13 mini’s screen and the 17 pro max’s. I just missing old times when we had small Nokias and other phones. I hope some day they will come back! What do you think? Thank you for your answer!

Looking to update from an iPhone SE (2020)

It is unfortunately time for an upgrade. Double unfortunately, I have tiny hands. I already have to use a ring on the back of my current phone for stability. To my dismay, almost all new phones are GIANT. I want to be able to use my phone one handed without cramping. The features I want are;
-longer battery life
-better camera quality
-bigger storage (64gb currently)
-as small as possible while keeping modern functionality
I’m wondering if an iPhone 13 mini is still worth it in 2026, it would be 2 years newer than my current phone, but still 4 years old. I don’t want anything much bigger than that unfortunately. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or insight on whether it’d be worth getting the 13 mini still??
