I hate that I had to switch so much

I am on day two of a Pixel 10 Pro, and I absolutely cannot stand it. I don't know if it's android, or just the size, but I don't even want to use the damn thing. My mini's battery health was at 74%, and everything has just been slow and crashing, and almost unusable. That is, until I got this Pro piece of junk. I was so upset at Apple for not having a decent sized phone to switch to, that I went with the Android, but I'm probably gonna end up returning the damn thing and either trying to squeeze more life out of my mini, or buy a 17, or whatever oversized crap they have now. It's probably just me, but why is this thing so, so, so bad?

Addams Family Values

I love this movie, but why were they were performing a Thanksgiving play during the summer? Maybe it's an east-coast thing, or that I never went to expensive sleepaway summer camps, but was this ever a thing? Or did they just have a funny idea for a play and they just shoehorned it in to the summer camp storyline?

Dumplings in soup?

I'm familiar with dumplings being some kind of a stuffed food. Xiao Long Bao, Khinkali, and other sorts of dumplings. Love em. But I have heard of biscuit soup dumplings, which, as I understand it, are just raw balls of dough dropped into boiling soup? I imagine it's a way to sort of bulk up a soup and offer more substance to a meal, but am I understanding this right? What kind of dough are they using, and how is this a dumpling? I'd love to try it, but don't know if it's as easy as dropping in chunks of Pillsbury biscuit dough into my soup. Would love someone more experienced with these kinds of dumplings to help me understand what's going on.

Chekhov's (Yao's) Gun

I'm both happy and sad that nothing happened with Yao's gun on the ship.

Grace doesn't bring it when he makes first contact, which says a lot about Grace and makes clear that this isn't THAT kind of story.

I thought maybe he'd have to use it to blow through Xenonite to save Rocky, but I doubt that would work.

Or we'd have a need to fire a gun in space as a means of propulsion. I remember a thought exercise in High School where you were given a list of items and needed to rank how useful they would be in space (or maybe it was on the moon) and a gun was one of the items. It was argued that the gun could be used as a means of propulsion, and with Grace being a teacher, I wondered if this was a common thing and would be brought up. Did anyone else hear this riddle/exercise?

Anyway, I just thought it was fun that Chekhov's Gun, as a storytelling principle, seems to be deliberately toyed with.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about: Chekhov's Gun

How to get fluffy, round popcorn?

There are some bagged brands of popcorn where every piece is very round, almost spherical. When I pop corn at home, either on a stove with oil, air popper, or microwaved popcorn, the results are always pretty varied. Is there a way to make popcorn fluffier? How are these bagged popcorns doing it?

Pete's dad was a real asshole, no doubt. But I have often wondered if him denying Pete any financial help wasn't because he hated his son, but because he was flat broke and couldn't stand to let his family know.

If he had the money, would he have helped Pete buy that apartment?
