Do you live in Tulsa? Do you love the city?

Do you live in Tulsa? Do you love the city, and want to see it thrive? Do you feel a call towards public service?

If all these apply, then you should consider running for city council!

What does the city council do? According to tulsacouncil.org:

(The council has) 9 members, elected by district.

* Adopt municipal laws & policies

* Approve the City’s annual budget

* Listen to the concerns of citizens

* Evaluate the overall effectiveness of city operations

* Confirm citizens to ABCs (Authorities, Boards, and Commissions)

The people of Tulsa deserve the truth.

While City Council races are officially nonpartisan, most councilors campaign as either Democrats or Republicans. Two councilors—Jackie Dutton (District 3) and Lori Decter Wright (District 7)—knocked doors, raised money, and presented themselves to voters as Democrats. Volunteers and supporters backed them believing they would represent Democratic values.

Once in office, they changed their party registration. They chose to join Donald Trump’s party—and have governed accordingly.

The Tulsa County Democratic Party remains committed to Democratic principles and honest representation. If you’re a Democrat in District 3 or District 7 and want a representative who shares your convictions, consider running for office.

Oklahoma’s minimum wage hasn’t changed since 2009. It’s time to vote YES on SQ832.

Oklahoma’s minimum wage has been stuck at $7.25/hour since 2009.

Since then, rent has gone up. Groceries have gone up. Childcare, gas ($85 to fill up my truck, yipee), utilities, and healthcare have all gone up. But for thousands of hardworking Oklahomans, wages haven’t kept pace.

State Question 832 would gradually raise Oklahoma’s minimum wage to $15/hour by 2029 and tie future increases to the cost of living so workers don’t continue falling behind.

Voting YES on SQ832 means:

• Giving hardworking Oklahomans a raise

• Helping working families keep up with rising costs

• Supporting more than 200,000 Oklahoma childrenwhose households would benefit from higher earnings

• Putting more money back into local businesses and communities

• Strengthening Oklahoma’s economy through increased spending power

People who work full-time shouldn’t struggle to afford basic necessities.

This isn’t about politics as much as it’s about whether wages in Oklahoma should reflect today’s reality instead of 2009.

Election Day: June 16

Voter registration deadline: May 22

If you support raising wages for working Oklahomans, make a plan to vote YES on SQ832 and have a conversation with friends, family, and neighbors about what stagnant wages have meant for Oklahoma families.

Curious where other Oklahomans stand on this. Are you planning to vote yes or no on SQ832, and why?
