One Year Update

Hey guys! I crossed one year on September 25, 2026.

This past year has had its ups and downs. PT went really well until about August this year. I moved off to college and started walking a lot and being able to workout at a gym 6 days a week. I do legs twice a week. I have regressed significantly the past month. I can leg press 10lbs on my right leg, but with significant pain. I used to be able to do more.

I am very lost and discouraged because of this set back. If anyone knows what I can do next, I would be really grateful. On the timeline I was given, I should have been returning to sports by now.

Content shift.

Hello friends. Currently my channel consists entirely of me streaming The Finals. After some time, and with moving off to college on the horizon. I want to take my channel more seriously. I am still thinking of a niche to create for. Is it possible in 2026 to become successful doing horror game playthroughs with a face cam?

Can any similar creators give me advice?

This is my channel analytics so far on my 4-year-old channel. 95 percent of the views come from my ancient shorts posted 4 years ago that I have not unlisted yet. I have revived the channel and started streaming on it. So far, through 3 streams have seen nothing other than 2 subscribers. I understand my personality isn't perfect yet for streaming, and my game skills certainly are not above average. I have wanted to try short films, but have not because I am streaming to become more comfortable with speaking to a live audience/camera. It is my understanding that I need to become consistent with streaming if I am going to gain any growth. That being said, is there anything I need to take into consideration to become better at creating content/streams?

College Freshman Exploring Interests

One of the best ways I have heard to choose a job as a student is to pick the job you want and work backwards, by then looking at what experience and education are needed for that job. It is early enough in my educational career that I am not aware of many paths, and I can change without as many caveats as someone who changes their career down the line. That being said, I have a lot of interests and would like some help to connect the dots and become more aware of more fields.

Currently, I plan to major in Kinesiology or Biomedical Sciences to get a degree for graduate school. I currently want to go to medical school, but I am very aware of the huge commitment of my time and energy to 12 years of school after high school. I really like the field of biomechanics and orthopedics; I would probably work as an orthopedic doctor or a sports medicine doctor if there weren't a heavy requirement. My hobbies and other interests are arguably more interesting. I like cinematography and have been hired by my college to work in the sports broadcasting department with the potential to get on-air as I requested. I am big on sports. I stream as a hobby. I do video games right now, but I would rather do other content. It's still great practice for on camera, and I like it. I make sourdough bread. I love making it for people to enjoy as well as designing creative scoring patterns.

I have noticed I have an eye for design, just thinking while writing this post. I am not sure how to capture the entirety of who I am and what interests me in a Reddit post, but I hope these details help.

Are there any industries or fields of study I am missing here? If you have any questions, I am open to them. Thanks for the help!

Is streaming what I should do?

Hello everyone. I want to begin streaming, not as a job but just as a hobby. My goal is to create a habit to learn the discipline of consistency and to try to improve my social awkwardness and overall comfortability speaking to others and on camera. I am starting college and plan to work with broadcasting for sports and want to minor in cinematography. Is streaming a good thing to do if I have these goals in mind?

BS in Kinesiology?

Hi everyone. I have been reading posts throughout my time on this subreddit about Kinesiology, a lot of commenters advise against a BS in Kinesiology. As someone who loves the field and wants to pursue either PT, AT, or an MD in PM&R, what would be the best choice for me for a degree in undergraduate?

How do I remove deep rust?

I got this grill pan at a flea market for 10 dollars and for the most part the pan looks excellent, there are a few spots with rust on it including this large patch. I have used numerous methods to attempt to remove it including a vinegar bath, and even a quick scrub with barkeepers friend. I do intend to make a new seasoning after I remove all of the rust so I don’t mind if the old seasoning gets scrubbed off. Any ideas?

Hi everyone. I wanted to ask a priest about vocation discernment, specifically what I am going through and how I feel about it. I am a student about to graduate from a small Catholic high school where our vocational discernment is taken seriously.

I feel called to work in medicine through my own hardships with knee surgeries and physical therapy consistently over the last two years. The injuries have made me lose many things that I love, such as sports and other extracurricular activities. Since then, the hardships have made me desire to become someone who helps others in the same situations as I have experienced. But I could not help but notice that the pathway to medicine and the role of a doctor or healthcare worker is similar but different from the priesthood. Both require extensive schooling and discerning whether or not you are qualified to do what you are pursuing. That being said, I have also experienced and "shadowed" the priesthood during my formative years of high school.

Starting in 8th grade, I became an altar server. Since then, I have become one of my parish's top servers. I am often called to serve Mass or do Holy Week services that the priest prefers experienced and very qualified servers to assist him. I have seen the priesthood from "front row seats," if you could call it that. I have also been to about 4 vocational retreats and have prayed a bunch for my vocation. I have also been told by my friends that I would make a good priest, and I even got to the point where I have requested a spiritual direction appointment with my priest. I told him of my desires for a family and for medicine. He told me that I should shadow and experience the medical field so that I can actively discern that direction for my life.

The confusion comes in when I hear very often that I would be a good priest, or the priest preaching in his homilies that young men should be vigilant for the calling to be a priest. The fact is, I have never had a growing desire to become a priest. After I heard all of these seemingly obvious hints towards the priesthood, I have never felt like it was for me.

Priests of Reddit, is there any advice you have for me?

My Venus Flytrap seems to be slowly dying and I do not know why. I have it under a 12 hour grow light, I keep it moist with distilled water and I have only fed it 3 times in its lifetime. The next thing I want to try is putting it outside. Any thoughts or advice?
