Home made Simrad transducer mount.

Had this simrad transducer hanging off the back of the boat, problem was the engine blocked the side scan. Made a 3 piece 3D printed mount that I epoxy mounted. There is an end cap that is removable and i can pull the transducer out. Would have prefered to put under the center of hull but the trailer and boat lift would not allow it. Works great at all speeds for a fraction the cost of a through hull.

Who Cares lives!

Sadly, ol Who Cares days in our clan is coming to an end. Time to sell thanks to Pasco code enforcement...gotta make room for my ProKat trailer, not enough space for both. Owend since 1987, its been through a few rebuilds. Was a Kennedy Delux 20' back in the day. Sad day, so many memories, Lake Powell,Western CO, Upper Chesapeake, Tampa! Needs some work but its a good boat.

Corroded / oxidized wires

Im a fan of old stuff.. because im cheap. One trick I have learned over the years when you run into electrical issues. You tear into a bad connection replacing some part and discover a wire where the conductors are black.. not copper. Im a big fan of soldering everything I can when it comes to marine or vehicles in general but you cant solder to oxide. Get some acid! I prefer heavy concrete and grout cleaners. Dunk the blackness into the acid, shake it to agetate, pull it out and then rinse thorougly in water! Them 20 year old wires are now showing fresh copper! Or you can rewire if you wish!

What do you recommend to disolve or break down salt buildup before freeing..or breaking bolts. HPDI thermostat bolt here. Would vinagar been a better plan than pb blaster for salt corosion?
