my ultimate chiikawa extravaganza in ikkebukero & harajuku!

(please feel free to correct the flare on this post as im not sure which suits it best!)

recently I had the honor of finally visiting Japan after 10 years of dreaming and after 10 days of being a hard-core shisa fan in Tokyo I would LOVE to share some tips for any other chiikawa fans :3c

as much as chiikawa park is great for the full chiikawa immersion, I will say the merchandise sold at chiikawa land is a much better selection. I went to the chiikawa land in harjuku in the kiddy land toy store and it was honestly in my opinion just as great as chiikawa park. however if you want the full chiikawa immersion expierence and the opportunity to hug usagi like I did, then I totally reccomend going to both! just dont make the mistake of spending all your money at one location like I did ヽ(´A`)ノ

if you wanna save money, second hand stores will be your best friend! I was so surprised to see just how much legitimate brand chiikawa merch was being sold for half the price in thrift stores!! I was so tempted to buy the giant kuri manju plushie but I felt a bit embarrassed carrying him back on the train so I left him for another traveler teehee

theres even a fair amount of chiikawa being sold at convenience stores such as 7-eleven and Lawsons if you're looking for a quick small souvenir for someone back home!!

lastly, chiikawa will always bring you to your people. I met SO many kind locals who were also into chiikawa and though my Japanese is very poor, everyone was still very excited and happy to talk about their favs. I even somehow managed to meet jaiden animations?? she saw my pink chiikawa bag at the airport and I complimented her chiikawa ita bag, as she did mine. still can't believe that one 😭

I saw a crow for the first time!

maybe i should specify up close that is! I found this guy wandering around near ueno station in tokyo. I never realized how beautiful and huge they are up close, I hope he knows he made me very happy and that I'm very embarrassed after trying to say hello to him in english; only to realize he probably is making fun of me in whatever bird dialect of japanese there is.

in the past year and a half I've done a TON of traveling, way more than I have in my entire life and one thing I notice is how absloutely agonizing my flare-ups are on plane rides? whether its in the air or after landing its almost impossible for me to walk due to extreme pain in my joints and with my blood pressure being out of wack. I've resulted in having to request wheel chair service nowadays but it makes me feel a little guilty and embarrassed when I feel people staring at me because they saw me walking a second ago. I've tried compression socks and nothing really seems to help. does anyone else have the same struggle?
