Was playing at a 4.0+ open play and got paired up with some stranger and played against another familiar face (a girl i knew from other sessions of open play) on the otherside. The game started going off well until my partner started being a douche and cocky. When the point was over he would pick up the ball and lob in over the fence for our opponets to hop over and grab and he intentionally sent one at the guy on the otherside (almost hit him in the face). Honestly it was all very uncomfortable. What killed my vibe was when the girl on the otherside lobbed it at him defensively and he smashed it at her body then started to laugh and sarcastically apologized. At that point I walked off the court and said I didnt feel like playing anymore and the other two followed soon after thus ending the play. Given, he definitely was better than all of us on the court but still I think thats no reason to be a jackass. Maybe its just me but ive seen this sport bring out the absolute worse in some people and even the pros. You can be a great pickleball players but i think that ultimately doesnt matter if youre a terrible human being. Did i overreact? Would you have done the same?
