Delaying a broken promise is still a broken promise. Let Duke know this is STILL not OK

“Forever Duke” continues to mock us. Delaying a broken promise is still a broken promise. I will not be donating to Duke while this decision stands and I feel obligated to tell prospective students that the university does not value its commitments.

Please join me in writing and calling them to let them know this is STILL not ok:

Duke Alumni Lifetime Emails are all being shut down. Help me let them know this is not OK.

Those of us who are alumni were provided these emails and all told they were for *life.* For those of you still enrolled, consider the value of having a consistent Duke email to rely on when virtually any other place rips it away the second you are gone.

To give you one example of why this matters, I am a physician who has published multiple scientific studies. My Duke Alumni email is the only published contact information, and I chose it with the understanding that this particular email was for my lifetime and would not expire. Now, I am going to be unreachable for anyone who has questions about any of the dozens of scientific studies I have published, which undermines transparent, public facing science.
