I’ve been building Portro after noticing that many developers and students had strong projects but still didn’t have a personal portfolio website because existing tools often felt too generic or time-consuming.

While working on this, I became curious about something:

Do recruiters and hiring managers actually care about portfolio websites anymore for software roles?

I’d also love to know:

• What do you dislike most about current portfolio builders?
• What feature would genuinely make a portfolio builder useful for developers?
• Do most people prefer templates, or highly customizable sites?

A few things I’ve been focusing on while building:

• Faster setup
• Cleaner developer-focused templates
• Simpler customization
• Minimal friction
