I am having real difficulty synchronising an Akai MPK Mini plus to Ableton Live 12. In particular, I can't seem to get the pads to play midi drums at the same time as the keys play midi keys. I understand that I might(?) need to install an akai 'script' in Ableton to do this (different guides suggest different destination folders for the ableton script from the Akai website), which surprises me as there is a dedicated MPK Mini Plus setting in Ableton Live 12. I also understand I might have to do something in the MPK Mini Plus Program Editor (when I open the Editor, it suggests the pads are using channel 1). The various tutorials and akai/ableton guides don't seem to be fixing this, so I wonder if I am doing something fundamentally wrong here? Can anyone point me to an up to date guide for this? Is the script really necessary?

I'm looking to use FL Studio on stage as part of my band's live performances. I'm looking for any advice on/experience of this, in terms of what kind of laptop I will need. We are a 5 piece: singer, guitarist, bassist, keys, drummer on an e-kit. I like the idea of using FL Studio to add vocal effects, loop drum parts to create more layered drumbeats (all played live). Ideally, I'd want to be able to mirror the PC screen on a tablet which I then give to the sound engineer, to give him control of th3 sound during the performance.

Can anybody tell me if FL Studio is suitable for this, or if alternatives would work better and.. what level/spec of laptop would I need for this?
