What’s it's like at SPE jobs at NYS OSC?

Is anyone here currently a State Program Examiner (SPE) at the New York State Office of the State Comptroller (NYS OSC)?

Is the telework/hybrid setup really as advertised, or are people expected to be in more often than it sounds? Also, I would appreciate any insights on the culture.

I have other offers and options, but the 50% telework option they're advertising along with a NYC based role seems pretty good to me, from what I got so far it seems the career progression ladder is slow and the pay is initially low. Do people seem happy staying there long term, or is there a lot of burnout/turnover?

MS in Accountancy Walk In Advisement

I had a concern that I wanted to address in person to the MS in accountancy advisement staff for the sake of getting a resolution immediately. Has anyone gone in person for anything or would know if they are back to offering walk ins? I checked the website and it's not saying much about it, so if anyone has any information as to whether they offer it or where it's at, I'd appreciate it thank you.

Interview Update

This is my third and possibly final post about my DCAA journey. I got the news that I passed, but unfortunately for me there were no spots and I'm tied down in NY for school/familial obligations. I followed up and asked for a timeline on an opening and he basically said people don't budge from their spots. Overall I felt I benefitted from the experience from a confidence perspective, feels nice to have a win under the belt, and I felt prepared throughout the interview and the practice paid off. If it works out, great but the blunt transparency and advice I received from both the DCAA agency itself and from everyone who replied/engaged when I needed guidance is something I really appreciate and isn't common enough in the hiring process. But if this is it, thank you guys for everything 🙏

Did I screw up or am I worried about nothing?

I did my DCAA auditor interview on Friday morning and haven't gotten a response or follow up. On paper that sounds like nothing but I've heard of people instantly getting some indication of their interview being "favorable" whether it be directly from the interviewer themselves or via email shortly after. I'm a pretty stiff interviewee so that's why I'm anxious even though I studied and prepared for the questions extensively. For reference, the night after I submitted an application I got an email at like 7 in the morning, and I was corresponding through email at the rate of text messages, almost instantaneous responses leading up to the interview in terms of scheduling and addressing any prior concerns. I totally understand in terms of business days and time since the interview, very little time has elapsed, but relative to the other proceedings I've outlined and the experiences I've read on here, I am worried I choked away another opportunity, is my concern valid or nah?

Interview for DCAA Auditor

Just found out my application for an Entry Level Auditor position at DCAA moved to the interview stage. Read through some stuff on their site and on the internet about the nature of the interview and the interview questions but still not totally sure what to expect. Anyone actually been through the interview or work there now? Curious about the format in person or virtual, what kind of questions come up, and anything you wish you knew going in. I am based in NY if that helps. Appreciate any insight.

Beat Eclipse May without cheating

I beat eclipse May without cheating and no money spent on the game, and limited energy and attempts. Took about 3 weeks and maybe like 250-300 attempts total. I used Kusarigama with bomb, damage return on both helm and gear, time bomb on my ranged weapon but I did not use the ranged weapon really, and stun on magic. I did duels as much as I could and gates of the shadows to accumulate the red orbs for the good enchantments and got pretty lucky, only had to try again for magic. Out of the 250-300 tries I won a round like 8 times total and only one time I won purely because of the damage I did and otherwise it was luck based damage return every other time. It's 85% luck and 15% skill, on the last round to win she killed herself completely in the first 3 seconds. It's important to not get frustrated but to know how to stay alive long enough so invest in your favorite weapon that keeps you alive long enough so the damage return kills her, but you just have to luck into some fortunate damage return simulation. After beating May and Titan I completed every other mission and am finished with the game. I used this subreddit for help and tips so this is the last thing I want to say before I move on and hopefully this helps someone.

4th of July Questions

Now that the 4th of July underdogs stories are complete and the maximum star level of 50 is achieved, they're still giving the trivia questions out with virtually zero incentive to complete them, which seems exceptionally lazy. They could've at least sprinkled some tokens or the occasional random base player, or even 1 star per question but two evo or play tokens per question (whichever one it was) is nasty work.

Getting ass kicked on Point Attack Unstoppable?

I wasted like 500 cash today on the point attack in the Unstoppable section because the highest score I got was like 1600 and I only passed the 1500 benchmark like three times on 10+ attempts. Am I the only one because the defense on a "1512" rated Patriots team was kicking my ass in a major way, like going down behind the line of scrimmage, tripped up by both my own O-line and their guys, chased down, and forced into the negative spots. For my own sanity is anyone else going through this or am I ass?
