Is it just me? I feel like an old lady yelling at the world rn+

I have my annual physical this week. I did labs last week. Woke up to a message that we need to "discuss a lab result at the upcoming visit." This is the medical equivalent of "we need to talk."

Now, I don't have access to the lab findings in the healthcare portal, so it's a wild guess as to what it is.

I don't normally have healthcare anxiety, but don't you think that a) if it's something minor, they would not send a message and just discuss it at the visit? And if it's something major, they would make a phone call?

I swear people have lost all common sense. I sent them a message asking for clarification and letting them know they are causing some unnecessary (albeit moderate) anxiety, and to attach the lab results to their reply.

2nd time using my Dr. Pen M8S and I think it's broken+

I don't think the needles are moving.

Whn I put the cartridge in, you can't see the plunger bit moving at all, and when the unit is off and you turn the depth dial, the needles don't move.

Has anyone had this happen?

Shipping Issues

Ordered something 7/5 and it has shown “label created” since 7/6. Reached out to CS about it and THEY can’t even get a status from the shipping company.
They are great and offered to replace the item so I confirmed my address BUT the item is sold out, so….yeah.

And I made another order yesterday. It hasn’t been shipped (or even picked yet, probably) so I emailed them and asked if they would consider using a more reliable shipper.

The original shipper is Cirro, but it hasn’t notes that says “last mile shipper” which is GoFo (?!?) and has an entirely different tracking number.

CS is great, as per usual, but I don’t recall having issues like this in the past. I’ve never heard of of Cirro OR GoFo - has anyone here?

TY!

First session done and dusted!

I took all the precautions, numbed my forehead, nose & cheeks. Did the Dr Pen recommended depth and speed and crosshatch technique, with some extra stamping on my forehead furrows and naso-labial folds (I stretched the skin there first). I also did my neck with no numbing. I used Jeunetique EXO and Hyaron and it was just enough to provide plenty of slip.

The cartridge was a 36-pin, however. I have 18s and will be ordering 12s. There was slight pinpoint bleeding in the stamping areas.

Wiped everything off with sterile saline, wiped again with a 70% alcohol pad, then sprayed some hypochlorous acid all over my face, then let it air dry.

I'm a tiny bit red in areas, and my skin is dry and tight feeling (it's dry and "mature - lol - and HATES not having product on it).

Also changed my pillowcase.

Next time I'll use the 18-pin needles and work my way up (down?) to 12. I don't think I'll need the numbing cream, either. I have a very high pain tolerance, so it should be fine.

You guys have been AMAZING with information - THANK YOU!

Soooo....got my Meamo order (already - YAY!) but+

I ordered the SM Cream Lidocaine from Meamo along with my Hylaron and Jeunetique EXO.

I opened the lidocaine to read the instructions, mostly to see if it's safe to use around my lips on those "smoker's lines."

Well. Apparently, they use this cream prior to intercourse (yes, *that* type of intercourse) to avoid the male finishing too quickly. This was the only use addressed in the instructions.

TIL that this is a thing.

ALSO - Meamo threw in free sunscreen AND two free face masks! I'll definitely be ordering from them again.

Big shout-out to all the folks here who have been so helpful! Thank you all!

Has anyone used MN to successfully treated an old scar (aka fade the scar)?+

If so, did you use any boosters? How many pins in the cartridge, depth, and speed, please?

I have a decades-old scar on my lower abdomen - just about where a bikini bottom would start (well, two, really, they sort of tagged onto the end of the first one for a laparoscopic procedure).

It doesn't really bother me, and there's a bit of nerve damage surrounding it, so it's a tad numb there. I thought it might be interesting to document any progress over time, but I'm curious about the pins/depth/speed as well as whether anyone has been successful at a similar endeavor.

TIA!

What else are you using/doing for your skin?

I have a red light mask I use twice a week, and I use tretinoin (Rx) and azelaic acid (Rx) on top of my OTC skincare. I use a gua sha but that's more for relaxation than any skin benefits.

Do you all do chemical peels (DIY or in-office) as well?

Newbie here: Just got my Dr. Pen!+

Hi all,

What do you wish you knew before you started? What's the best tip you got?

I've done some searching and it seems that Hyaron is a good beginner serum for what I need (some wrinkles and dry skin).

I'm on Meamo and I do see the product, but in a syringe and not a vial. Are there any other trustworthy sources?

I'm not planning on using the pen until I source a good sterile serum and some other necessities, like a post-procedure serum.

I'm 57 and I'm about a 4.5 on the Fitzpatrick scale. I have some fine, etched-in, horizontal lines on my forehead and a deep-ish vertical line on the glabella (a job for a neuromodulator, obviously). The horizontal lines are my first target and then my perioral wrinkles.

I've joined this sub and will continue to read, read, read! Thanks!
