That moment when you find yourself standing in front of the Atlantic after 900 km of walking - Unforgetable experience...
I can't believe that already more than 8 years have passed since I did the Camino. I started my journey in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and traveled along the Camino Francés.
I set off alone, but already on the first day I met a few fellow pilgrims who quickly became friends. Our group kept growing, and before long we were more than ten people from all over the world, walking the entire way together.
What makes the Camino so special are the friendships you make along the way. There is something about sharing the same journey, day after day, that creates a connection far more intense than most friendships and acquaintances in everyday life.
Looking back, it was a truly unique experience — one I still remember with a smile. And while I sometimes wonder if I would do it again, I think I probably won't. Maybe some experiences are special precisely because they happen only once and can never quite be recreated.
