I fix the snow particles in Uncharted 2 Remastered (With claude)
Yeah, I'm not a programmer; I'm just a curious guy...
I asked claude if he can fix the snow particle bug in uncharted 2, if i provide logs, prints, github of shadps4 and unpacked .appimage
A brief summary of the entire process: Snow particles were rendering as small clusters of dots instead of spread-out flakes. I captured a frame in RenderDoc, found the snow draw call, and saw the vertex shader was reading from a buffer the emulator left unbound. Disassembling the game's original shader showed why: it uses a PS4 GPU addressing mode called ADDR64, which shadPS4's shader recompiler ignored, so every flake read zeros instead of the control points of the path it should follow. I wrote a three-file patch for the recompiler (with a lot of AI help on the investigation), rebuilt, and the snow is back to normal. I will reporting on the project's GitHub with the patch and the analysis.
(I don't know if they accept AI-generated code.)
Update: There a link with .md explain the process; diff .patch and .appimage for this version:
