Progress billing question

When I do a job for a client I typically bill just for the equipment portion ahead of time and the labour after the job is complete. What’s the correct way to handle changes to the equipment and labour that were actually required for the job? Previously I’ve just edited the invoice but this kind of breaks the link to the estimate. Are they supposed to stay in sync? Does it even matter?

Julia should be the new rogue!

In the middle of today’s episode and Julia is great! They should at least have her on the show more. I think she would have lots to contribute. Although she’s probably pretty busy studying that astrophysics stuff!

US brain drain discussion

I’m a week behind so I just listened to episode 1103. Found an interesting article that relates to the discussion near the end of the episode regarding researchers leaving the US. As a Canadian I’m happy my government is funding these researchers.

Third party camera playback choppy

I installed a Reolink wifi doorbell yesterday. I'm running a UDM pro as the NVR along with a G6 Turret. The cameras are on their own VLAN and everything is working fine, except for choppy, stalling playback on the Reolink. It's especially bad when I scrub back and it's playing the recorded footage. Live is pretty good, but it's still choppy and occasionally stalls. The web interface is marginally better but still pretty choppy. Downloaded video is perfect. The Reolink app plays the live feed perfectly. I've tried playing with the frame rate and bit rate settings in the Reolink camera settings but it makes no difference. All software on the UDM and Reolink is up to date. Any ideas to fix this?
