Is this transition done well?

We had our hardwood floors refinished and are very happy with them. Then we had someone else come to re-tack the carpets. We have no other transitions from carpet to wood in our house so I just wanted an opinion on if this was done well before I pay the $250. To me it looks puffy and loose but if that just how this kinda thing works then that’s fine I guess.

Color crisis!

Bottom up: Sand dune, special walnut, provincial. Preferring the browns in the dark grain on provincial but worried the top coat will make it go orange like my current floors. I want a more medium tone like provincial and sand dune looks very grey compared to the online pictures I see. But it also feels safer from my fear of too much orange. Can a professional tell me if my fears of provincial changing too much with water based top coat are founded or if I can trust my eyes?

Concerning Deck Stairs?

I’m looking into replacing my decks stair treads but as I look at how the stairs are attached to the deck I’m questioning if it’s even done correctly? Obviously it’s pulling away which is problematic on its own, but more importantly is the way it was done even acceptable? 20 year old deck.
