Dinner reservation question for 3 at a 4 top do we have to stand in line to change it to 3 people to avoid the no show fee for the fourth empty chair.

Since reservations can only be made for even number not odd number of guest, has anyone been charged the no show fee when 3 people show up for a 4 top reservation?

I ask because it seems strange that people that need an odd number odd of seats would have to stand on line at guest services to change from an even number to an odd number of people. I understand about not wanting to waste tables but if 3 show up then the table is not wasted just a chair is empty.

So has any odd numbered party been charged for not cancelling the extra chair 2 hours prior?
