What render settings do you recommend universally?

Two questions actually, first one is in the title.

I render at full HD with 2k sample size, texture compression off, pixel filter lanczos. Everything else is on default settings. I have seen nominal luminance and noise degrain filtering being recommended a couple of times but I could not really figure them out. I also had a lower pixel filter radius but set it back to default after finding out that that was the reason for texture artifacts (moire). Render quality is on at 1.00 and 95% but for most of my environments I can't even hit that target so it just renders those 2k samples anyway, or maybe the scenes are just not well lit. I am not very good with lighting yet 😅

Second question, do you use the same settings for animations? I usually half the sample size just to render an animation faster and obviously it loses quality.

I basically use the same render settings for all or most of my renders and scenes and want to know what you use or recommend. I could go higher with the sample size if needed. I use the renders for a visual novel and the engine I am using is optimized for full HD images so if I would use a higher resolution I would need to downscale them anyway.

Is there a way to fix texture artifacts without raising my pixel filter radius?

Hi,

I'm working with an asset I really like, but I'm getting some artifacts on the fabric.

It is caused by the pixel filter radius, which I set to 0.6 for sharper renders. If I use the default value it gets better, and I would be happy with that, but I wonder if there is a way to avoid these artifacts while still using a lower pixel filter radius.

Increasing the resolution didn't help and I played with some sliders in the surfaces tab but could not figure it out by myself.

The first picture is rendered with the pixel filter radius set to 0.6.
The second picture is rendered with the filter radius set to 1.5.
The third and fourth pictures are zoomed in.

Why don’t most streaming sites have a horror genre for TV shows?

Wanted to watch a horror tv show and noticed that the genre is missing on most of the streaming sites that are listed on fmhy.
