Cyn, more arms, as it should be 💕

my style sort of evolved after I drew her fully the first time, so I drew her again, my Trans Mantis, once a male fearful of being eaten by a female, turned feminine by eating them instead

I penciled 4 characters today, Cynthia is the first I outlined and coloured, now I’m exhausted haha, posting her before bed, Cyn is bit of a hot head, her personality is bubbly but she’s slightly unhinged and easy to temper, stay on her good side and she makes for a fun loving friend

Another brand new character I had time to draw up today, Bolt is a bit of an anomaly, unlike all other male hornets who mate then die shortly after, Bolt avoided females and did not die in the cold, focused on surviving and living his life as long as he can, he also managed to grow his own stinger, not present in male hornets, he is a fighter who enjoys the thrill of hunting and combat

I’ve been busy so Havant had time to draw for a bit, finally got this Vespoid gal down on paper, she looks mean but isn’t so bad, she’s stoic and strong, tall and Beautiful, Rain the Bee is obsessed with her, she wants Paige to be her new Queen, this greatly confuses Paige but tolerates her dotting behaviour

Only this time in Colour! And sporting all the limbs as well, next up will be a distant cousin of hers who packs more of a sting than this sweetie

Kindly by nature, Dawn only hunts for the less sapient of insect kind, she has a bubbly personality and loves hugs, doesn’t like Cerise the Mosquito, she won’t let Dawn hug her

I came up with this character while doodling, not only is she a blood sucking parasite of mammals, Cerise has a bit of a nasty attitude and violent tendencies, I wouldn’t call her Evil, but I wouldn’t recommend getting on her bad side, her bloodlust can make her dangerous and her bite unpleasant

I’ve Finalised Soot’s Design, not sure about the colours, I might play around with them later, he’s a crazy fluff boy

I’ve finalised the design for Leaf, went through my whole process this time instead of just line art in pen/marker, she’s coloured in with pencil, I prefer to use copic markers for colour but mine need repair and the paper I’m using is not ideal for it, but I’m happy enough with the end result here for Leaf 😊

Hello again fellow bug folk! I’ve been working on getting the designs in my head onto the page, my Bee Rain is fairly fleshed out but the others still need some work, but I thought I’d share the doodles and ideas Ive been working on today

The mantis: this is Leaf, a male praying mantis, but goes by she/her, deathly terrified of being eaten by a female, Leaf came up with the idea to disguise herself as one, in the process discovering how much she loves her femininity, and how tasty male Mantids are…

The Moth: this is Soot, he’s not very fleshed out yet, as I am still working on his design I do too am thinking up some backstory and personality for him, stay tuned!

The Spider: this is Dawn, she’s a Huntsman spider, friendly and affectionate for a predator, reserving her victims to the less sentient among insect kind, she enjoys breaking the barrier between arachnid and insect kind, showing that not all spiders are vicious, though she still frightens most

I have many other characters in mind, and I hope to come up with more complete works in the future, including colour, thanks for reading!

I love bugs! I stumbled upon this sub a couple weeks ago and love the creativity and characters, been meaning to whip up some drawings of my own bug folk

This is Rain, she lost her hive and was all alone for a time, she’s easily swayed by other female insects as she’s desperate for a queen to call her own, like her name sake, she loves the rain, but dares not to fly in it, she’s a dancer of sorts, and loves all things sweet

I have other characters I intend to draw up, I’ll post them here when I do

Note: Rain has four arms, I just neglected to draw them in this picture 😅
