"As your nature beseeches you" aka, more a Kudaai and Rami angst

I've had this idea for Rami getting mad and yelling at Kudaai after a Bishop has him make a weapon since, well, February, honestly. Orginally, it was the flail being requested by Shamura, but I wanted to give Rami more time to get back and to raise the ranks to disciple in Woolhaven, so I changed it to Lamb's Slaughter.

Yes, I know it's implied by the script that the culling was already happening when Rami left and that it's not confirmed that the ax was made by Kudaai, but we're going to ignore that becuase I became very attached to this idea after months of it sitting in my head lol

Anyway, Rami ran away from Kudaai after this. They stole some tools and gold and went back to Woolhaven to warn Yngya.

I noticed while drawing this that the sheriff star on the cowboy fleece is the same "star" shape as Yngya's snowflake symbol.

It's probably unintentional, but still neat none the less.

The Lamb really did want to impress and learn from the first few Disciples they brought back, before the inkling that something was rotten around Woolhaven crept in.

So they tried their best to listen and learn from their sheepish elders, which was easier said than done since they had a few centuries of god ego rearing it's head. Lol

Also I'm going to ask ya'll real nice to not start an argument about dietary choices in the comments, please. 🙏

Pulled apart like a paper party cracker

Also, Kallamar barely remembers this. Yorabba's death weren't even a blip on his radar in the grand scheme of sheep culling.

"Lady Luck kisses her on the mouth with tongue" might be the best line I've written yet.

Instead of letting it languish in my files uncompleted, I just slapped line art on it and called it a day.

Ratau still doesn't fully trust Hagar, but she's a damn good knucklebones, so she can't be all bad!

"The Owl has chosen a different tact, one I cannot condone; For regardless of what they threaten, I shall never relinquish my beliefs."

This, students, is an example of *Dramatic Irony*

Sometimes you need to ask the question, despite the fact you already know the answer to it.

Sariel rarely left Woolhaven, but on one of the few occasions he did, he met a young vessel of The Red Crown who saved him from drowning in an icy lake and helped him get home.

Though he never let Ratau enter Woolhaven, the two met up often in the forest outside the sanctuary.

Ratau knew the prophecy and knew of The Bishops' cruelty well enough to know he couldn't stop them, especially after they murdered Yngya. He also knew Yngya's highest disciple and most beloved would never join him.

But he tried and fail to defy the fate set out for his friend anyway.

Some thoughts and noticings about Scylla and Charybdis

I'm figuring out how I want these two to look in art, and in doing so I noticed some things.

The most important thing, which I already knew but the world needs to notice as well:

*Scylla's got her tits hanging out and I love that for her. I like to think Charybdis would too if he wasn't goop.

Also an assumption going in that colored my noticings is that the two were members of the free pack, based on their clothing, being wolves, and the weakest evidence of Scylla's cut line referring to her distrust of the Free Pack.

Newer noticed stuff:

Outfits:

*Their outfit are very similar to Marchosias, more so imo than other Free Pack members. no other members have the spike collar around their necks and the chains.

*The chains on their collars are broken. Probably they had a charged snowball on them. Was it removed by them or by Marchosias?

*Charybdis's cloak is torn at the edges, but still in one piece, while Scylla's has repair stitching in an X-patterned. Has Scylla had a harder time up top of the mountain than Charybdis had inside? The rot creatures probably have no reason to harm him and leave him be since he's kind of one of them (from the neck down at least). The Free Pack could have done it if Scylla went AWOL and made an enemy of them, but there are Bishop Cultists' corpses around, so it's possible she ran afoul of them. Or maybe she tore it on a tree branch, but the X pattern makes me think slashes.

Physical Details

*Scylla has no eyelashes, but does have eyebrows. Charybdis has eyelashes by no eyebrows.

*Charybdis' mouth does not open as much as Scylla's. He's probably mumbling, if I had to guess.

*The eyeballs on Charybdis pulse in his animation while the wormy things on his body wave around. None of the eyes anywhere on his blink.

*Neither of them have tails.

*Scylla has two little lines thingies on the top of her head. Maybe it's hair? Maybe it's part of a plug and Marchosias put that weird charged snowball helmet on her head?

Environmental details:

*Charybdis made a snow wolf 😭 💔 my heart!! Let us reunite them properly, Massive Monster!

*the ether pools reflect the environment from the other side of the mountain than the one they are on. Scylla and Ratoo's dialog confirm the pools are all connected like some weird magic cardiovascular system, but it is strange this change of environment seems to only happen with the pools these two are at. Maybe the pool reflect the wants of the person tending them? Each sibling wants to be connected with the other so the pools reflect that?

*the stones around the pools look like teeth. The ones effected by rot especially look like fangs or bones.

*the stone teeth are more broken inside the mountain than out.

*who is tying the health potion and hearts from the roof? What are they hanging from?

*Ratoo's ether pool he fishes at and the one the wolf siblings have look very different. Maybe the massive heart Ratoo has is why? Maybe he is preforming a ritual?

Yes, Narinder has done the Preacher Thing™ where he slaps the podium and shouts "AMEN!" to startle someone awake. [NariLamb]

While Narinder did have sermons that were energized and booming, he also gave more mellow ones. Death should be respected and mindfully fearered by its followers, not seen as as something evil and to have a primal fear of.

The clowder of Bishop Narinder knew that their afterlife would undoubted be blissful, as preached so peacefully by their god.

Only Lamb-Approved cannibalism is allowed on these grounds.

Sometimes all the cult has is stolen pumpkins and that's what everyone is eating until Ratau can go slaughter some heretics, so you sneak into the morgue and take a little nibble of the old lady who just croaked. Why does everyone make a big deal out of it? You didn't hurt her and she was going to go to waste just sitting there...

Anyway, The Night, aka The Fox, was one of those really whiny meat eaters who complained that he "isn't a rabbit and won't eat rabbit food."

It's just as much about keeping his persona as a proud predator up as him being a baby about food he doesn't like.

u/UAs-Art — 27 days ago

If that cat could have controlled his ego for twenty minutes, he would have gotten his cake and eaten it too.

The Lamb would have died to set their god free and clear their debt to him, but he just had to go put their followers in cages bc Narinder's plan was to scarfice half of them once he was free to jump start his rule over the lands.

He kind of screwed himself over.

One part Character Analysis+One Part Story+ One reference to Burger King Foot Lettuce = All Heket being pestered about why she doesn't have a girlfriend.

Title:Blame-Induced Love Starvation

Summary: Heket does not need her night ruined anymore by The Lamb prying into why she doesn't have a girlfriend.

Rating:T, for swearing and innuendo

Ships: nothing deeply focused upon

Preview:

She could not blame The Lamb for hosting a grand wedding ceremony. A huge party with someone who adores you more than life itself clinging to your arm while the rest of your followers look on in wonder and/or jealousy was a feeling that was difficult to beat.

No, Heket could not blame The Lamb for that.

She could, however, blame them for letting the party get so out of hand that all the rest of the kitchen staff had drunk themselves into a collective stupor and ran off.

A few feet from the feast table, Heket kicked one of the people supposed to be helping her pack up the remains of the feast. He groaned and rolled over into a pile of drying vomit, but didn't move to stand.

With her hands on her hips, she looked around for anyone else. Two more of the kitchen staff were passed out under a table. One had her head in a bucket, her face pale. Even the other head of the kitchen, one of The Lamb's disciples, Lena, had disappeared hours ago.

Heket balled her hands into fists. This wasn't fair! She shouldn't have to pack all the leftovers back to the kitchen by herself.

If anything, she should be the one drunk under a table or with her head in a bucket. Compared to those pesky mortals, the great once-goddess needed a drink more than anyone!

But noooo…she had to stay sober and make sure no one tried to put their disgusting feet in the lettuce like the last feast day.

Heket ground her teeth at the memory. It still angered her that she wasn't allowed to slaughter and carve up that salad-soiler. A day in the pillory could never make up for the wasted food defiled by feet.

She had a running list of things she hated, and wasting food was always near the top.

Heket had many reasons for her hatred, though at least part of it came as holdover from her days as a simple critter. Her second summer of life brought with it an awful drought and lean times. The power starvation could hold over all mortals installed itself in her so deeply that it was one of the few events she remembered from her time before her Crown.

Another part came from her time with The Yellow Crown. Food took effort to grow, even when encouraged with her power, and wasting food meant wasting time and effort that could have been used elsewhere.

Heket stood over the bowls still piled high with chopped vegetables and oil cruets without a single meat dish in sight.

She never would have pegged a wolf as big and muscled as Abas to be a vegetarian, and yet somehow the canine did not care for the taste of succulent meat.

If Abas hadn't been so pretty, Heket might have held it against her.

Fun fact! My orginal headcanon for these two was Chazaq was a bisexual man and Koka was his very supportive, straight wife.

Then the short came out and now the two are swinging both ways together. B)

Good for them

Two of the new canonical They/Thems and a gaggle of the old. 🟨⬜️🟪⬛️

Quite interesting so many of the previous offical nonbinary characters are holy beings... 🤔

Almost like they are too powerful to be held down by the very concept of binary gender itself...

Also if anyone replies to this without reading this caption, as I know many of you are want to do given some of my discussion posts, and tries to say The Goat and The Lamb aren't "offically" or "canonly" nonbinary, I will be very disappointed.

In *offical* media, The Lamb (and by extention of the dark mirror thing the Goat) as they/them. It's been confirmed they're enby multiple times over.

In Ur own game or AU, they're whatever you want them to be.

The Sun Is A Lonely Star (Father's Day art)

I know the real reason is game mechanics and story progress and junk, but I like to think the reason Chazaq made a grave for himself alone instead of being burried with Koka and his children is that he felt he didn't deserve it.

He couldn't defend Keru and Aza from the Bishops. He couldn't bring himself to end their suffering through scarfice.

He didn't deserve to be the one to cradle them through eternity.

Anyway, happy Father's Day. I got my dad a sack of peanuts and a T shirt.

Fourth time trying to post this. I am going to scream. Reddit, please stop messing up the panel order, for the love of Lamb.🙏 🙏 🙏

OK the first two times were totally on me for not double checking the grammar in the title and forgetting a panel.

But the 3rd time was reddit app being confusing and messing up the order bc I dared to delete a picture.

Anyway...

Their break-up left repercussions that are still being felt to this very day...

Narinder refuses to worship The Lamb, but he does allow himself to worship The Red Crown--even if he and The Red Crown didn't part on good terms.

Here's what the Crown is saying btw

And those first few centuries of him wallowing and whining about being trapped--it was so annoying!

I was trapped, too, but he never asked me how I was handling it! It sucked for me, too!

And then he goes and passes me around like a joint at a frat party to all these unworthy vessels!

He gave me to a *fish* who lasted only 3 years before she gave me back!

At least the Rat knew how to use me! The fish couldn't throw a curse! She just looked a little like his first follower and he was feeling "nostalgic" blah blah blah

Ducks redesigned!

I decided to redesign how I draw the duck siblings mainly because I hate drawing their feather cloaks. It’s a pain in the butt, so I decided to simplify and personalize their clothes instead.

I tried to be a little better at giving them each different body types, since their life styles are so different.

Chemach is built with toned legs, since she travels on foot a lot. Kudaai is a brick from swinging his hammer and working with the forge. And Clauneck both doesn’t move much and forgets to eat more often than not, so he’s a twig of a man.

Chemach’s scars are mostly from accidents while traveling, but the ones on her arm and back are from angry mortals trying to steal Crowns from her.

The scars on Kudaai’s lower arms and legs are from mishaps in the forge. The big one on his inner thigh, for example, came from his first attempts at using gunpowder. The ones on his back and upper arms are from mortals foolishly believing if they defeated him he would make them a weapon or gods upset they lost a fight and blaming him.

Clauneck’s only scar is on his upper shoulder, close to his neck. A village leader didn’t like the future he had drawn and took it out on Clauneck. The village leader mysteriously went missing. Don’t ask Chemach about it.

I have so much little lore bits for these guys that I’ll just toss a few here for each.

Chemach-

*dumped all her extra stat points into her charisma and is really good at reading people.

*Lesbian who had a some long term girlfriends who followed her around as she traveled, though they were few and far between. Mortal lives are short and getting attached only to lose someone still stings even if it’s happened before.

*Bossy “Big” Sister. (she claims she’s the oldest because she got the egg shell off first when they hatched.) loosing her marbles did not change that part of her personality. She has the heretic gods that visit her (mostly the lamb now) deliver food or soap to her brothers when she gets word that they haven’t been eating well or are lacking on their hygiene.

*she was Friends with Benefits and besties with Yngya until the desire to go agianst her nature caused an argument between them. Yngya heard about what happened, but hasn’t seen her in her new godly state.

*she makes the best bread.

Clauneck-

*he was once very witty and observant to the world around him, but then he started being in the past, present, and future at the same time more often than not, which is very tiring and makes it difficult to be witty and fun to be around for most poeple. He started really leaning into it just before Chemach went insane. He knew it was coming and being in the present made him worried and stressed. He pulled himself out of it more often for the centuries he and Shamura were a thing, though.

*he likes strong sour or bitter flavors. The sharp taste help keep him in the present and able to enjoy what’s going on.

*he has lost or had stolen every card in his deck multiple times over. But they will make it back to him in time, so he doesn’t worry about.

*his bread is always burnt when he tries to cook.

Kudaai-

*he takes a full bath twice a year. Which is up from never a year when he was kid, and Chemach had to drag him to a river when he started to stink too badly. When he got bigger than her, she recruited Clauneck to help throw buckets of soapy water on him.

*his back is scarred up so badly he can’t feel much anymore. He’s carried on with arrows and spears in his back for months before he noticed they were there and pulled them out.

*More people than he can count owe him life debts. He’s big and wide, so he scares off highwaymen and most predators just by looming into view. Consequently, he has the most first aid knowledge of the 3.

*when he makes bread, he worries it will burn and takes it out to early so the insides are doughy.

All three-

*Peas are all three’s favorite food. Kudaai’s next favorite is worms. Chemach’s is bread. Clauneck’s is rhubarb, even though it makes him really sick to eat more than a nibble.

*When puberty hit, they all shot up like weeds. It bothers Chemach she is the shortest and that, through his work as a smith, Kudaai has a more prominent chest than her.

*they were given their cloaks very young becuase the first ones had a hard time telling three nearly identical, black ducklings apart.

Would the disciples passing around a ghost joint have made the Woolhaven situation better or worse, I wonder...

Anyway, there was a discord interview with Jojo and Jimp a little while ago, and at some point I vaguely recall one of them mentioning they jokingly headcanon Sariel is blazed out of his mind the whole time.
