Is there any hope for me?

I am a recent graduate from UBC in a field related to CS. I have zero work experience (I failed to get any internship/coops so far) but I have passion projects related to C/C++, Rust, Go, Python, computer graphics, desktop GUI applications. I have never made any genuine friendships so far so I have no professional network. I have no idea if I can get a software job related to my expertise. There are lack of jobs and the competition is brutal. Not to mention that my severe hearing loss makes things 100% harder. I don’t know what to do anymore.

Trouble with speech comprehension

I have sensorineural hearing loss between 90-100db. I am a hearing aid user for about 20 years. However my English listening skills still suck even in one on one settings in extremely quiet environment. I am able to understand my parents’ voice very well (except in noisy environments). But I cannot understand someone else’s voice, unless they speak in similar way as my parents’. I cannot understand movies or tv shows without subtitles. I cannot understand audiobooks unless I have its word by word transcript for me to follow. I have no idea if I can improve my listening comprehension. Do I have auditory processing disorder? Should I get cochlear implant?
