You all stick up for a tourist but when it’s a local boy getting hit you don’t bat an eye. And you act like you are part of a Maui community. SMH. Go home all ready!

I’m a pool guard and the other day I had a woman start to breast feed while in the pool. It’s common for mothers to breast feed in the facility and mostly they are not in the water while doing so. Being that there are no food or drinks aloud in the facility, aside from designated areas away from the pool deck, I approached the situation the same way that I would if a mother had been bottle feeding in the pool. I asked the mother if she would mind moving outside of the pool onto the benches 3 ft away from the pools edge. She immediately answered back with “I’m federally protected and can do this wherever I want.” I attempted to explain why she shouldn’t be breast feeding in the pool but she kept saying she’s federally protected. Realizing she won’t listen, I walked away and she continued feeding her child. To my surprise, the senior guard decided to coincidentally close the pool I was guarding to rotate lunch breaks. So it seemed like I shut the pool down because of the situation lol. I’m js wondering what swimmers think of this? Should mothers be breast feeding in the pool?
