Here we go!

Yesterday TF and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary.
“How?” - you ask.
By driving to Dallas for the Lone Star Classic Dog Show!

Today the party continues with TF handling Phoenix Rising for the very first time!
All good juju gratefully accepted!
See you on the backside!

Tampa loot!

PR didn’t pick up any major points in Tampa but she got her first real ”Rosette award”. She picked up a few regular ribbons, a stuffed butterfly twice her size (what were they thinking?), a kitchen towel and $10 in dollar coins.

Right now she is resting up for Dallas next weekend.

Male Issues?

I’d really like to hear from male owners.
I am tentatively planning to get a male show Pap next year.
“Tentatively” as in I am seriously watching a breeder and already have a name picked.
My issue is that I have NEVER owned a male of any species in my life other than a hooded rat, so I am concerned with the difficulty of potty training a male and the fascination some males have for humping anything they can wrap their front legs around.
Do my concerns have any merit with a male Pap or are they the perfect little Velcro dogs that I was originally sold on?

Met a Japanese Papillion today.

We are in Kawazawa and noticed a lady pushing a buggy in the Samuri District.
We’ve only seen three or four dogs here which I find a little strange - and not a single cat!
A close look brought us both smiles as there was an obviously well loved, older lemon and white Pap. We seemed to pass each other several times and I managed to contain myself and not approach the elderly lady pushing the buggy.
Well, that lasted until our paths crossed at a park in another location and I took it as a sign.
I smiled at the lady and asked her verbally and with hand signals whether I could pet her baby. She smiled and nodded - then here came TitaniumFemme with a picture of PR. I didn’t really see how the lady reacted because I was too busy paying homage to the pup who looked like she was in the neighborhood of 16yo.
Just out here showing appreciation and encouraging foreign relations!
