In this movie, Supergirl finds herself swept up into the far future by a mysterious figure later revealed to be the Time Trapper.

In the 31st century, Supergirl finds a place that is more reminiscent of Krypton and is surprised to find there are still superheroes: a team calling themselves the Legion of Superheroes, although they’ve only recently been founded and only includes Cosmic Boy (Dean Geyer), Saturn Girl (Imra Ardeen), Lightning Lad (Rupert Grint), Brainiac 5 (Jesse Rath), and Mon-El (Chris Wood).

However, the big thing about this movie that it reveals is that Earth-1 does not actually have a future beyond 2027, and that Kara was actually brought to Earth-58, and that everyone else in the DCEU who is from the future is actually not from the future of Earth-1, but rather the present day of an alternate universe where time moves quicker; Booster Gold is from Earth-86, Impulse is from Earth-94, Thawne is from Earth-63, and Abra Kadabra is from Earth-62.

It was a fun movie. Maybe a bit mid, but idk.

Mutants have always existed in this world, but, until the last few decades, they’ve been few and far between. Following this mutant uptick, two veteran mutants, Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and Erik Lehnsherr (Ian McKellan) come out of the shadows to form two clashing groups with opposite ideals.

Beast's story as he slowly turns into the blue Beast form is great, and the climax at the Statue of Liberty is also fantastic.

Since Sony owned Wolverine at the time, Cyclops became the main character of the franchise, and because of this, he became a much more popular character.

At first I wasn't sure Henry Cavill was a great pick for Superman, but he delightfully surprised me. He played a very hopeful Superman, fighting for humanity even though he's an alien and trying to redirect the fights away from populated areas.

Kevin Costner was a good Jonathan Kent as well. He gave some good lines teaching Clark to be inspiring and use his powers for good. It was so sad when he died when Clark wasn't around, saving someone else.

Harry Lennix's Martian Manhunter was also cool, helping Superman in the fights.

Also, people really don't understand Clark killing Zod, thinking it felt out of place. He wanted not to kill him, but Zod wasn't going to stop hurting people. It was a hard choice he had to make.

Deadpool being an obsessive Spider-Man fan is so funny. Spider-Man's, Daredevil's, and Punisher's cameos are all cool as well. Colossus and Kitty Pryde (Sophie Turner) are cool supporting characters as well.

It was good, no complaints about the movie itself. Kinda wish he was part of the Justice League from the beginning though.

This movie is widely considered the beginning of the modern age of Marvel movies.

Steve Rogers (Matt Damon) is taken out of the ice after 55 years to find a world that has yet to fully move on from him. Back in World War II, Captain America fought an organization named Hydra. He defeated their leader, Red Skull, but as their saying goes, “Cut off one head, two more shall take its place.”

To combat Hydra post-World War II, an organization called S.H.I.E.L.D. was formed, and a special task force composed of enhanced or exceptionally skilled individuals was created. This was the Avengers Initiative, and it's been around for a while, currently lead by Nick Fury (David Hasselhoff). The current lineup includes Hawkeye (James Marsden), Black Widow (Angelina Jolie), Hank Pym, AKA Ant-Man (Eric Bana), the Wasp (Winona Ryder), and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.).

Hydra is led by Baron Zemo (Christoff Waltz), the grandson of Cap’s secondary archenemy from World War II, Heinrich Zemo, with other inclusions like Baron Strucker (Thomas Kretschmann), Madame Hydra (Sandra Hess), and Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford).

The Avengers defeat Zemo and deal a blow to Hydra, but they remain active.

From the beginning of this movie, Hank and Janet are dating, but at the same time, Tony also has a crush on Janet and they flirt a little.

They couldn't include Hulk and Thor because of the restrictions on the budget in a 2000s movie, and because Fox was going for a more grounded world. Because of the influence of movies like The Matrix, the Avengers wear mostly black and Captain America's suit is very dark and muted, and he never ever wears a helmet. Also, Iron Man's suit is entirely practical.

Despite the decision to make the costumes mostly black, the movie was actually pretty good. If Fox hadn't taken the risk to acquire the rights to the Avengers, we might not have gotten all the great Spider-Man, X-Men, and Fantastic Four movies we have today, so even if the Avengers movies were always a bit uneven, we should still be glad we got them. What do you guys think though?

3 CENTURIES AGO, the first Mutants and Superhumans appeared on Earth, ushering in a new era of GODS AND MONSTERS.

3 YEARS AGO, a teenager at Midtown High was bitten by a radioactive spider and came to learn that with great power, there must also come great responsibility.

3 MONTHS AGO, SPIDER-MAN was seen in Manhattan for the first time, stopping a trade deal between rival gangs.

3 HOURS AGO, SPIDER-MAN infiltrated the Cult of Scrier and was attacked by a superhuman named the Hammer of Scrier.

3 MINUTES AGO, SPIDER-MAN lost a fight for the first time.

Peter Parker (played by Matt Lintz) began college three weeks ago alongside high school friends Harry Osborn (played by Christopher Briney) and Flash Thompson (played by Mason Dye). He then met Mary Jane Watson (played by Sadie Sink), and the two became fast friends. During those first three years of his career, Spider-Man amassed a big of a rouges’ gallery over in Queens, and he frequently fought the Green Goblin (played by Michael Shannon), Norman killed Peter’s girlfriend, Gwen (played by Angourie Rice), before accidentally killing himself.

After defeating Spider-Man, the Hammer of Scrier returns to an underground bunker where he’d come out of his armor to reveal someone dressed similar to Spider-Man. The leader of the cult of Scrier would release a monster on Manhattan named Gog. Spider-Man shows up to fight him, but is overwhelmed until a superhero team known as the Unity Squad shows up, featuring Carol Danvers, AKA Captain Marvel (played by Brie Larson); Scott Lang, AKA Ant-Man (played by Paul Rudd); Jennifer Walters, AKA She-Hulk (played by Tatiana Maslany); and Sam Wilson, AKA Falcon (played by Anthony Mackie). Peter tries to stop them from killing Gog, but fails. He then returns home to find a man there waiting for him: a disfigured version of himself, who claims that he is the original.

Peter goes down a rabbit hole that leads to him finding evidence that he is, in fact, a clone. Part of this is getting help from a professor of his named Miles Warren (played by Jackie Earle Haley), who confirms that the scarred Peter has older DNA. The two Peters investigate the cult together, but Peter is led into a trap. The scarred Spider reveals himself to be working with the cult, and Peter is attacked by the cult’s members, who all appear to be a bit powered up, and then the leader of the cult is revealed to be the Green Goblin, revealed to be alive, surprising Peter, and to show his ruthless nature, the Green Goblin kills the other Peter, which he was not expecting.

Spider-Man is locked up in this high-tech facility guarded by someone working for the Green Goblin named Simon Williams (played by Nathan Fillion) which contains other Spider-Men: faulty clones who did not end up heeding the Green Goblin’s commands.

It’s revealed that the rest of the Cult of Scrier are successful clones of Spider-Man who, while nowhere near as strong, are completely obedient to Norman Osborn. Now, with Spider-Man trapped, the Green Goblin can go about his plan. The Cult of Scrier’s members are all unmasked and all put on Spider-Man suits and go out into New York to ruin Spider-Man’s legacy.

Unbeknownst to Peter, MJ found out that he is Spider-Man. She then gets the help of the Unity Squad, although only Ant-Man agrees to help, taking her to find Peter.

Peter convinces Simon to break him out, but as he does, this activates a backup plan of Green Goblin’s, and the whole place comes down. Most of the faulty Spider-Man clones die from this. Peter has to lift rubble off of him, and he and Simon escape just as MJ and Ant-Man arrive as well, but alongside them, one of the faulty Spider-Mans survive. This is Ben Reilly, the Scarlet Spider.

Ant-Man returns to the Unity Squad Mansion while Simon Williams disappears, and MJ takes an exhausted Peter back to Aunt May’s house. Peter learns that he is, in fact, not the original Peter Parker, but neither was the scarred Peter. It turns out that Miles Warren was working for Norman Osborn, and he lied to Peter. However, at the same time, there was some truth to it. It turns out Peter’s parents were mad scientists whose son died, and so they cloned him to create the Peter we know. Their technology was then seized by Oscorp, and they were killed. Peter is depressed, but is brought back after a speech by Aunt May (played Laura Linney), telling him how while he is technically a clone, he is the Peter Parker that she raised, and he is the Peter Parker who chose to become Spider-Man.

He’s brought back just in time to stop the Green Goblin’s master plan to destroy Manhattan. The members of the clan are all revealed to be scarred-beyond-recognition clones of Spider-Man, so if they’re unmasked, nobody will recognize them anyway. They cause massive damage, including destroying bridges and buildings, but the Unity Squad take down the army of the Cult of Scrier while Spider-Man and the Scarlet Spider team up against the Green Goblin. It’s here that Peter learns that the Green Goblin is Norman Osborn, his friend’s father. Norman reveals that he did everything that he did as a revenge plot to ruin Spider-Man’s life. All of these clones, all of this destruction, all because he sees Spider-Man as his archenemy. Spider-Man and the Scarlet Spider team up and beat the hell out of the Green Goblin.

With the day saved, Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson share a kiss, and they officially get together. Clint Barton Sr. becomes fed up with the superhumans running rampant. The leader of the Unity Squad, Captain America (played by David Corenswet), returns from a mission to hear what they’ve been up to. Because of the destruction linked to Spider-Man, J. Jonah Jameson (played by Wendell Pierce) begins being laser-focused on the webhead, offering a job to anyone who could take pictures of Spider-Man. Peter, struggling with his finances, sees a very clear opportunity. Harry Osborn becomes the new CEO of Oscorp, but unlike the original Raimi trilogy, he will not become a villain because that’s been done before.

This movie is brilliant. All the haters just want to see the Whedonverse return. What do you guys think?

OoC: This is the counterpart to Superman (2025). The Raimi Spider-Man trilogy still exists here, but there were no TASM movies. Instead, the counterpart to the DCEU Shazam movies were the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies, and so far, the live-action movie Spider-Men are Tobey Maguire, Tom Holland, and Matt Lintz.
