Ford Fusion 2019. Engine Light. Powertrain Light. Overheating light.
Hello, fellow car enthusiasts. I have a 2019 Ford Fusion SE. A known recall is coolant leak into engine. I had the dealer fix this 5+ years ago. A couple months ago, the engine light went on. A month or two later, the powertrain wrench light went on, and then the overheating light. This led to loss of power to the point of I couldn't go more than around 5 mph. Ford called me, because my app shows them my warnings. I went to the dealer, and they said the only fix is a new engine for $12,000. I told them there is no way that is happening. I had a local mechanic look at it, and he said a spark plug was broken and was replaced. They also did pressure tests on the coolant system and others, and they said it was good. Question: Do I need to worry about this due to a coolant leak into the engine being an issue, or should I be good? I am angry and confused by the dealership asking for me to pay half of what I paid for the car if all it needed was a spark plug.
