Pet peeve!!!!

This might be a hot take.. maybe not.. but keep an open mind.

These posts are my absoluteeeeee worst pet peeve:

"25 year old horse looking for his retirement home/forever home.. he's done so much for us and we want a good home, needs to be a companion or very lightly ridden as hes got xyz going on. Heres what he's done in the past: yada yada yada."

Ok but WHY require a "forever" home when you couldn't be that for the horse that won you rodeos/shows, protected you in the saddle, gave you joy, you name it. I freaking hate that. Like how could you sell an animal that has given you their all for all of their good years but try and offload them when they are old and decript?

I legitimately just seen an elderly gelding at the auction a few weeks ago, they listed his accolades as they brought him in - a bulldogging horse, kids horse, you name it. And yet.. he gets sold at auction for $200???? What in the f? And these are people that have room for horses, I'm from a super small community and know so many. This old gelding just brought a damn tear to my eye, I almost bought him to feed him good grain, and euthanize him at my place but unfortunately I dont have the money to save all the auction horses and he was probably a frost away from death. The time to euthanize him was yesterday. Yet he's brought to sale?

Stop selling your ancient horse that has (maybe!) a few years left and be responsible- put them down or allow them to retire and then euthanize when they turn that corner. It really irks me.

And DISCLAIMER: This judgement does not apply when owners die, people are getting out of horses, moving, sold the ranch, the horse is aggressive/not a fit, etc. Just the people making space for younger horses. Be patient with the animal that you loved/used/taught and allow them to pass where theyre comfortable, they have given you alot, give them a peaceful, respectable death - they earned it.

I hope I can get a diagnosis

I am needing to hear those that's local small town doctor actually caught their leak on an MRI. Please give me your, "it wasnt the most horrible diagnosis stories."

I have a referral to nuero, that my pcp is trying to expedite, and I am so so so scared that he's going to say, "there's no evidence of a leak, too bad so sad." Im already anticipating it.

I am manipulating myself into thinking I have mancheusens or something. My doctor told me strict bed rest, no lifting, no blowing my nose, etc. Well, because I have been laying down 23 of the 24 hours of the day, my symptoms are mostly gone. I still have tension in the base of skull, neck and back, but it's so much better than it has been that I feel like I'm ok and don't have a leak, even though just a week ago, I probably had 5-10 ml gush out of my right nostril every day for 3 days consecutively. Which caused me to google what the heck it could be and realized I have legitimately every symptom (and some) to some extent. Now that I'm on bedrest and not moving around, I have had no problem with it leaking, at least out of my nostril. I do believe i taste it going down my throat a few times a day, though.

Anyways, many of the neurologists in the area have shitty reviews, and I'm so concerned that they wont find evidence of it and I will have to drive 8 hours to be seen. All while my husband, who already works full time, has to bare the responsibilities that I usually handle. Im a SAHM who runs 3 businesses for income. He has had to pack orders for me, take kids to orientations/practices, get them ready for school, all the household chores. I feel so guilty, I'm not even supposed to pick up my toddler (which is mostly doable but so sad). If l end up needing surgery, he will have to take FMLA. What if me pursuing answers is just too much on our family? Sorry for my sob story, I'm just trying to balance taking care of myself with responsibilities and its a huge adjustment.

My pcp had a regular CT done. Absolutely nothing remarkable. He told me he expected that, though, and is still pushing for rest until I can get an MRI. If the MRI shows nothing, I guess I can beg to collect a sample and get it tested, but Im already 2 hours from the nuero, I think it would be a huge huge challenge. Idk, I just want to expedite this shit and get back to normal, or at least hear non horror stories.

Anyways, been praying.

99% sure I have a leak

For the last 2 years I have progressively been getting sicker, slowly, day by day, powering through but I just genuinely thought it was what my 30s felt like.

Symptoms: 1. positional headaches, when I bend over or get on the ground to play with kids - immediate pain. 2. Neck/shoulder (coat hanger pain), just genuinely never went away no matter what I tried. I had felt like every muscle in my upper back and neck is seized up. 3. Base of skull pain. I notice this happens when I stand upright for too long and gets naggingly bad near the end of the day. It feels like a muscle pain but also feels like that area swells. Not sure how to explain it otherwise. 4. The one that caused me to google this and put it all together - thinner than water, clear fluid sporadically gushing out of my right nostril, but only when I bent over quickly. 5. I have had horrible acid reflux and stomach issues for at least the last 2 years post partum. After Googling and understanding csf, I learned that drainage to the stomach may cause this as well. 6. Hair loss, maybe its unrelated, I'm still figuring that out, but I'm more worried about this condition than my hair, I firmly believe that will grow back. 7. This is actually a massive one and forgot to list. BRAIN FOG. I cannot place the name of people I have known my whole life, without really thinking hard about it. My witty sense of humor has been gone for awhile. I miss my brain working properly the most.

Essentially my patience and love for life has become worn thin, even though I'm more complete than I ever have been - stable incomes, relationships, etc, but I continue to feel like I can't do my daily tasks without breaks.

I have had 3 epidurals in my life, but more concerning to me is a few things from childhood. I had my adnoids removed when I was 10 and shortly after I had a liquid pour out of my nose when drinking from the school water fountain... it poured out and embarrassed me but I felt it was a symptom of the surgery that I had to live with. This was literally 20 years ago and I'm just now thinking it possibly could have been ALL that time ago!! I had also fallen on my head and sprained my neck as a child once but concussion was clear and etc.

Anyhow, I am waiting on doctors appointments and insurance approvals to get some of this figured out. In the meantime I have put myself on rest. Laying primarily on my back, not lifting things and moving around my home much slower than I normally do. My symptoms have pretty much resolved themselves, but when I stand to shower and what not for too long I start feeling them all come back, though much much less intensive as I have been taking it easy.

Part of me feels like this pain is just normal aging, part of me is taking it seriously. Laying down for most of the day is irritating as hell though, even though I genuinely feel so much better than I have in a really long time. Any similar stories out there? I just need a sounding board I think. I am hopeful that whatever the doctor finds will hopefully help my quality of life...

How do you keep in the loop with USDA resources?

I know many local farmers and ranchers apply for subsidies when available. This is my first year, though I grew up on a large cattle ranch. My grandpa always handled these things and didn't believe women needed to learn them (lovely man just incredibly old school line of thinking).

We have cattle primarily and planted a few fields for better hay crop. We've lost a few cows early on but our crop is a 75% loss due to the severe drought conditions we've experienced in our area. I hear of some potential subsidies in the future with the heat and drought and I want to be on the look.

Is there a newsletter sign up for USDA, or likewise? Been browsing a bit but I dont see anything I can sign up with.

Do you just keep in touch with your local office? I pursued alternate financing to start so I dont really know if they have a resource liason of some type.. etc..

And yeah, I'm doing what I know next year, and planting freaking alfalfa, no more farming for me.

Buyer said the product smelled like vomit

I sell handmade apparel. Its not cheap. The customer said that the garment smelled like vomit and asked for a refund. I said, "wow, I've never had any feedback like that ever, I'm so sorry, please send it back and I will remake it or issue and refund." They basically said, "My family smelled it too and they think it smells like vomit without me saying it." I just said I'm sorry that happened and that wad the end of convo, never recieved anothet response. Should I anticipate getting the garment back or this being problematic in the future. I have never dealt with an Etsy order issue yet, but have seen some horror stories, and I dont want to lose out on all the time and material when the garment can be mailed back and probably washed.

Is there something else I need to do? I have no refunds explicitly stated on my page but I am willing to refund if they return it.
