Unwanted tree seedlings help!

Unwanted tree seedlings help!

Hey everyone!

I have several lovely native beds thriving right now and my biggest headache are tree seedlings popping up in them. I love my trees on my property and I know this is just part of the deal, but how are you guys fighting them without spraying anything nasty?

I've been snipping and pulling what I can but they are relentless 😆

Dam Pub statement

Anybody know what happened to cause them to say this? Saw some comments alluding to a guy posting something but not any other details.

Between this and that whole Cajun Fest debacle I'm wondering what has gotten into people recently.

Suggestions for a prairie plot?

I'm in south central Iowa zone 5b.

Prefacing this with that this is a work in progress!

We have a neighbor who has a mess on their fenceline. It's a full sun spot so I'm trying to make the best of it and do a prairie plot to camouflage what they have going on their side.

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for big tall plants? I've already got some joe pye and tall coreopsis going.

Will also take any suggestions for battling this ornamental grass that is taking over 🫠 so far what is planted is a section of sod we removed to combat it, but it's still trying. I've been saving cardboard to cover the rest to help tame it until we can remove more sod. I do plan to get some sedges to help out compete, but would love other thoughts.
