NursingCAS Reference Spam?
Hey! If I am applying to multiple schools through NursingCas, do my references get asked every single time I reuse their reference? If so, thats extremely obnoxious and I hope I am wrong.
Thanks!

Kinda bait title but legit question. I’m applying to schools, have a 3.96 GPA but tested out of gen chem and the lab so I didnt physically take those in undergrad. I feel completely proficient in gen chem and even took orgo for shits, with lab, and got As and Bs. (Ik theyre different but point is, I get the gist and chem is a strength and love of mine)
Will the fact that I did not take gen chem hurt me?
Thanks!
Edit: I emailed several schools last night and have gotten several responses back: not one cared about my testing out and everyone is fine w it. Thanks to everyone who was nice.
Hello,
I had to take a critical care exam before the actual interview for a school I’m applying to. I think I got a B on it if I am just thinking back to what I think I answered right/wrong.
Edit: how important, in light of my other stats, is high performance as a critical care exam that is part of the interview process?
For context on me, I have a 3.96 undergrad gpa and took orgo, 3 separate volunteer endeavors, undergrad nursing award, daisy nomination, level 1 trauma but only 1.5 years experience, but CRRT trained, used paralytics, vasopressors, the works. Shadowed for 30ish hours.
The exam wasnt terribly hard but I did miss a few things and there are probably people who did better, and I’m hoping it didnt heavily impact me because this is my number one school.
Thanks
Hello,
I started a match a few months ago with a tween girl who has had some difficulties in her family and issues with behavior and school, the likes.
I have posted in the past on a different sub (you may be able to dig it up) about her lying blatantly about things and that bugged me. I received feedback that that was just how kids her age act and not to read into it too much which was honestly valid feedback. I know I lied about dumb stuff at her age, even if it was not to the same extent.
Ill be so real- I think I am in over my head. I CLEARLY do not know how to confront her about issues and what the right thing to do is. If i call her out, I dont want her to stop trusting me.
She still lies about dumb stuff- she is a “pro gamer” and pro race car driver, her dad is a professional boxer, she fell out of an amusement park ride and flew across the park and landed in a Farris Wheel, etc. it does bother me but I am trying to take the advice just to let it go.
The thing that is really bugging me is she is just verbally aggressive about other people and swearing. Like she swears profusely, every other word, and some of it is violent which I did put a stop to. She said she wanted to bash her whore teachers head in with a sledge hammer and I finally sacked up and told her she could not talk like that around me.
I’m such a passive person, I have no clue what to do. I feel bad discontinuing the match because she looks forward to hanging out! Like she genuinely likes me. And i want to support her interests and hobbies and be a good role model because she SEVERELY lacks that.
I just dont know what to do. I hate to say it but I have started dreading our meets and this last time, when she said the thing about the sledgehammer, I damn near turned the car around.
Wtf does one do? I feel like we were carefully matched and when they asked about what kind of kids I should not be with, I said kids with significant behavioral issues cuz idk what to do with them! And here I am….
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
They said they will tell me more specific info about the critical care exam two days before the exam, but what can I study in the mean time? Is dosage calc common? (Touch up on conversions) Receptors, or hemodynamics, etc?
Thank you!
Hi, sorry if this is not the right sub to post this in but not sure where else it could be. I am trying to apply for grad school soon and my admission essay is being flagged for AI (75%) but I literally wrote the damn thing.
I do not want to water it down because I am proud of my writing. I see advice to use choppier syntax, make typos, etc, but this is a serious paper and I want it to be flawless. I feel like if I have it riddled with mistakes it will significantly hurt my odds of getting in.
Hello, I want to apply to school this fall.
I just took my CCRN and passed, but am really bummed about the score. I got a 91. The main school I want to get into requires a score report but there is no minimum point requirement, exactly. My question is, how much will this score hurt me? I cant find a good answer online.
Background info on me if it helps- had a good GPA (3.96), Neuro trauma ICU RN, CRRT trained, take capstone students, will try to take the TCRN soon to boost my chances. Hundreds of volunteer hours, ~20 shadow hours.
Hello! I’m a little nervous about applying but want to see if my stats are competitive. Thank you!
Work background:
-I am a neuro ICU RN right now (1year) at a level 1 trauma center. CRRT trained, completely comfortable with drips, have used paralytics, most patients are vented, commonly use EVDs, Raumedics, Irraflows, lumbar drains, chest tubes, etc. I graduated in 2025 so that is the bulk of my RN experience but I did have a couple home health stents where I did more managerial/ organizational work last fall.
-Other than that, I was an intern in an ER for a summer and fall and loved it.
-I was a manager at a zoo at 19 years old, did that for two years in undergrad, had my own staff, hired people, managed the interpersonal relationships, scheduled, etc.
Academics:
-3.96 cum GPA, took orgo for fun and got high Bs. My only Bs in college. Maybe should not have taken it but I wasnt doing it to get into CRNA school I just truly wanted to challenge myself.
Awards:
-Outstanding Achievement in Nursing (2025) at my college, only one of 200 students.
-My Daisy :)
- Deans List and Honors all 8 semesters
Volunteer:
-Teach Fundamentals of Nursing 1-2x a month at the college I attended, was asked by the faculty there to come back and teach
-Hundreds of hours of free tutoring in all nursing subjects
-Big Brothers Big Sisters
Edit: I would have posted this in the weekly applicant mega thread but it doesnt look like it is being posted anymore so I made a general post because I saw others doing it.

Hello,
TLDR: 13 y/o girl I volunteer to spend time with lies about every single thing. How do you deal with a kid who is constantly lying?
I want to start by saying I am not a teacher, rather a nurse who follows this sub closely b/c of obvious similarities between nursing and teaching (pay, low resources, insane expectations, abuse from the public, etc). I would like your guys advice.
I am a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters and I was paired with a young lady. Her family situation is rough- divorced parents, dad off doing drugs, sister who had a baby at 14 who is 16 now, police called to the home all the time. But I think the mom really is trying her best, idk. This kid hates school and constantly talks about how she refuses to do any of her work. Her family sounds wildly inappropriate to me, but I was pretty sheltered growing up so idk.
My problem is that she really does lie about everything. Every other word is a lie. Some of the lies include her mom serially being arrested (I googled her name and found one arrest in the last year lol but not the monthly affair the girl stated), she said she spent a week in Juvi herself (idk), said teen moms today bring their babies to school (i genuinely do not know if this is a thing) but the big lie there is she said she was allowed to carry a friends 3 month old baby around school all day, she says she is a professional gamer, on and on and on and on.
I just do not know at all how to handle this! I have a year long commitment with her and have only known her a couple weeks. I want her to trust me and I want good things for her. I worry that if I just call her out outright, she will be embarrassed and will not want to confide anything in me. Really any advice is much needed.
