So, which unit is getting favoritism from you in Fortune's Weave?

I don't care how bad Peter's early game archer growths are, he is getting as many energy drops as he needs to do well. Ain't none of the original childhood friend squad getting left behind on Cai's route.

Theodora's grey skin

Looking at this screenshot from the Direct, there is no way Theodora's grey skin isn't intentional. Compared to the black woman behind Lysander, the difference is noticeable. In general it seems like only some people from Saramis have this grey skin colour while everyone else has more natural tones. Could they be descended from Agarthans?

The random Three Hopes support conversation that foreshadows Fortune's Weave

In Hapi and Shamir's C support in Three Hopes, they discuss the pagan statue in Abyss. Shamir reveals it's actually the Dagdan God of Fate.

This statue is most likely the Pale Raven, the god that Eshmel serves as a herald as shown in the snippet of the artbook in one of the trailers. With his hood on, Eshmel also looks very similar to the statue.

Also, the statue has probably been in Abyss "forever" according to Hapi. This would mean that the Dagdan gods used to have a presence in Fódlan, and might explain why Eshmel seems to also have a connection to Sothis.

Fortune's Weave main characters can support with each other?

An interesting detail from the Twitter footage of Leda. When she's selected you can see she has 3 support points with Buccaneer and 3 with Sirocco. But she also seems to have 2 support points with Theodora, a green unit. Dietrich is there as well but she has no support with him.

[Spoilers] Nobility rank of every Fire Emblem protagonist

Since it's looking like we'll have at least one commoner protagonist in Fortune's Weave, I thought I'd have a look at past FE protagonists and how high they rank on a scale of nobility. Spoilers for many FE games, for obvious reasons. This list includes inheritance (adoption included) and their actual titles.

Literally everything:

  • Corrin is the child of the Silent Dragon Anankos, founder and later usurper king of Valla. They are also a prince/princess of Hoshido through their mother Queen Mikoto, and a prince/princess of Nohr through adoption by King Garon.

God:

  • Robin is the vessel of the Fell Dragon Grima, worshipped as a god in Plegia. Through their father Validar's usurpation of the Plegian throne, they also become prince/princess of Plegia.
  • Byleth is vessel to the Progenitor God Sothis and the intended successor as archbishop of the Church of Seiros. They become king/queen of the united kingdom of Fódlan in Silver Snow and Verdant Wind, and archbishop in Azure Moon.
  • Alear is both a Divine Dragon of Lythos through adoption and Lumera's transfer of dragon powers, and a Fell Dragon of Gradlon as the oldest child of Sombron.

Empire:

  • Alm is the only child of Emperor Rudolf of Rigel, raised as a commoner in Zofia. Despite being smaller than Zofia, Rigel is called an empire.
  • Seliph is the prince of Grannvale through his mother Deirdre. Originally a kingdom, it becomes an empire under the rule of Arvis. After gaining the throne, Seliph liberates the conquered nations and turns it into a kingdom again.
  • Micaiah is the oldest daughter and rightful apostle of the Begnion Empire, but was raised as a commoner in Daein. She eventually becomes the Queen of Daein instead.
  • Edelgard is the crown princess of the Adrestian Empire.

Kingdom:

  • Marth is the crown prince of Altea.
  • Celica is the princess of Zofia.
  • Leif is the prince of Leonster, a kingdom in the Munster District coalition.
  • Eirika and Ephraim are the princess and crown prince of Renais.
  • Elincia is the princess of Crimea. Though a kingdom, Begnion considers Crimea a vassal.
  • Chrom and Lucina are both of the royal line of Ylisse. It's described as a "halidom" ruled by an exalt, but its influence is the same as a kingdom.
  • Azura is the daughter of the previous King of Valla, and also a princess of Nohr through her mother Arete's remarriage to King Garon.
  • Dimitri is the prince of Faerghus.
  • Claude is the prince of Almyra. While he is also the heir to House Riegan, the ruling house of the Leicester Alliance, he returns to Almyra in all of his endings.

Ruling house of an alliance:

  • Hector is the prince of Ostia, the leading house of the Lycian League.

Noble:

  • Sigurd is the heir to Chalphy, a duchy in Grannvale.
  • Roy is the son of Eliwood, the marquess of Pherae, part of the Lycian League. If he marries Lilina, he becomes king of a unified Lycia.
  • Lyn is the granddaughter of the marquess of Caelin, in the Lycian League. After the war, she renounces her title and grants the land to Ostia.

Commoner:

  • Ike is the son of a knight and a priestess from Daein. He is briefly granted a noble title by Elincia after the first war, but quickly renounces it and goes back to being a mercenary.
  • Kris is the child of an Altean knight.

Compilation of all the factions we've seen in Fortune's Weave

Every character in Fortune's Weave seems to have a flag next to them that represents which faction they're allied to, similar to Three Houses. I went through the gameplay footage to get all the different factions we've seen so far, and there are surprisingly a lot of them.

  1. Wind of Ribeira, Cai's team (used for Cai, Tiara, and Pieter)
  2. House Lamine, Dietrich's team (used for Dietrich and Fabio)
  3. Storm of Roses, Leda's team (used for Leda, Buccaneer, and Sirocco)
  4. Light of Megaera, Theodora's team (used for Theodora and Bonaparte). The same flag is used for Saraminian soldiers, shown fighting Leda's team.
  5. Aragonian soldiers, shown fighting Dietrich's team
  6. Thundercloud Knights, shown fighting Cai's team
  7. Members of the "Brotherhood", shown fighting Cai's team
  8. "Bride's Friends", shown fighting Dietrich's team
  9. The "Gaia Brigade", shown fighting Theodora's team
  10. "Silver Knights", shown fighting Leda's team
  11. "Defenders", hologram soldiers shown fighting Dietrich's team
  12. Zombies, the name literally translates to "Burn Burn Soldiers". Shown fighting Theodora's team
  13. "Palma's Rain Team", shown fighting Leda's team
  14. Seems to be a generic flag for unaffiliated soldiers. It's used for thieves and the "Goliath's Minions" shown fighting Cai's team
  15. Unknown flag (used for Ursula)
  16. Unknown flag (used for Ultand)

These are all the ones I could find. Let me know if I missed any!

Does Felix's major Crest ever get brought up?

Felix is one of the few characters in the game who possesses a major Crest, and the only student at the academy who inherited it naturally.

Out of all the known characters, there are only six who have natural major crests. Those are Felix, Catherine, Balthus, Constance, Hapi, and Count Bergliez. Everyone else either had their Crest given to them artificially, or is the original saint who bore it. Anna also has one, but we don't know how she got it.

Basically, Felix's Crest is kind of a big deal. And yet I've always thought it was odd how Crests play much more of a role in the lives of characters like Sylvain, despite him only possessing a minor Crest.

Is there a support conversation I missed where anyone actually brings it up?

It must suck to be a peasant in Hrym territory

- Try to defect to the Alliance to avoid the emperor consolidating power

- Get destroyed by imperial forces, they murder the entire Hrym house

- Imperial princess installs a homicidal maniac as heir to the house as a puppet

- The comically corrupt Duke Aegir takes control of the area and immediately begins taxing you to hell

- Can't even run to Ordelia territory because they're occupying that too (and also doing Crest experiments on children)

- 14 years of this

- The emperor's daughter takes the throne, deposing Duke Aegir, declaring war on the church and promising change

- New emperor puts the even more corrupt (and secretly a cultist mole person) Lord Arundel in charge

- Even higher taxes, forced labor and conscription for the imperial war machine, new lord kills anyone who opposes

- 6 more years of this

- Either the church forces finally kill Lord Arundel and the emperor, or the emperor wins and starts a silent war against Arundel's cultists with no end in sight

The way the main cast is presented on the box art is interesting

We can already see that the Promised One takes up the middle space here (playable character? Byleth 2?) but the way the other characters are presented is more interesting to me.

Leda and Dietrich are both smiling and looking radiant in the sun. They're very clearly being presented in a "heroic" way.

Cai and Theodora are the exact opposite. Theodora is giving us a downright villainous side-eye, while Cai looks absolutely flabbergasted. The harsh lighting and the darker backgrounds give them both a "darker" feel.

Foreshadowing for their roles in the story maybe?
