Thank you to everyone on this sub for answering all my questions. I was worried that I had started putting the application together too late and the wait was absolute torture. I also wasn’t confident that my relationship with my partner would be suitable for this visa by the Home Office’s rules and especially because of what other High Reputation commenters were saying on this sub to people in similar situations to me but it’s all worked out thank God. No history of cohabitation, no shared financial accounts but we had moved in together by the time I applied and we had travelled together a lot for trips abroad in the years we had been together as well as to see each other every week when we started doing long distance.

Hello all, I saw a post recently with a thread of comments where the OP was being advised to get married because their unmarried partner evidence wouldn’t be sufficient. Someone else responded saying that getting married just for a visa application is illegal so I am a bit confused. Is it illegal if a couple was in a real genuine relationship and decided to get married sooner to make it easier to get the spouse visa? I thought it would only be considered illegal or suspicious if the couple getting married weren’t actually a real couple and were instead just one person doing the other a favour to help them stay in the country.
What category should I pick for flight tickets, coach tickets and accommodation bookings for holidays?
I only just moved in with my partner so we don’t have a lot of correspondence addressed to us jointly and I don’t have a lot of correspondence to this place either. For the 6 items of correspondence I need to provide for him, should I just provide very recent documents? Or should I spread them around the last two years for instance attaching a water bill from 3 months ago, a gas bill from 6 months ago, etc? I am just a bit confused by whether they’ll be ok with different documents each from random different dates over the past 2 years?
What evidence do you give for this? Can you show bank statements showing the payments going out of your account or do people get letters from landlords to say you’ve been paying rent? Not sure what to attach here
If your home has an open plan kitchen and living room (no door separating the two), when the application asks how many other rooms there are besides kitchens, bathrooms and toilets, would you say there is 1 other room for the living room? Or just say no other room?
Not sure how to answer this question, I came to the UK legally. I was given a vignette sticker and got my BRP a short while after arriving in the country. Should I select the “I was granted temporary admission or bail at the border” because of the vignette sticker or should I tick “Other” and explain that I flew in and was given a sticker at the airport?
I’m unsure whether to say yes or no to this. My partner and I have only just moved in together so we don’t have enough items of correspondence to provide yet. So should I say no and then explain this under the “explain why you do not currently live with your partner”? Or should I leave it as yes even though I won’t have enough items of correspondence?
Hello, I am not sure understand the purpose of the Family & Friends question; how do people usually answer this question? Virtually all of my family is in my home country so which members do I list, just nuclear family? Also in terms of friends, what do they need this information for?
In terms of the national identity card, I have one but I have left it in my home country. I am leaning towards not filling in the details about this card in case they then ask to see it physically because I wouldn’t be able to provide it. Is it okay to leave this section blank? Or does the Home Office accept scans of national identity cards and so I should just fill it in?
Hello all, for the evidence of ongoing communication for a couple that hasn’t been living together, how many screenshots do people provide normally? I’ve been in my relationship for a couple of years now so I was going to provide a screenshot of our chats for each month that we’ve been together. Is that what people who have had successful applications do? Or should I be providing 2 screenshots per month (that will be a lot of screenshots though).
Also, when you make a claim in your cover letter like for instance stating that you and your partner worked at companies in different locations, do you have to provide proof of your employment or can the Home Office see this information elsewhere? For instance I am switching from a Skilled Worker visa, can they see information about my employment from there? Or do you literally have to prove everything you claim?
Just wondering if most people who disliked the film went into it not knowing much about the story. I didn’t connect emotionally with the film at all and I didn’t know much about the story so I thought maybe the problem was that I wasn’t familiar with the source material. I understood most of what was happening but I just didn’t find it compelling. I know Nolan always has something extra at the end of his films and I kept thinking maybe it would come together then and just blow me away but the screen went dark and I was so underwhelmed. Did any one else who didn’t know the original story and felt this way have a good understanding as to what went wrong?
