So I matched with my host family like a week ago but we haven’t texted much I understand that we are busy but I would like to know if I should be texting more or ask for a call with the kids or anything else I don’t want to be a bother or problem or come as nosy but I feel like since we are going to spend time together like a year I should be involved or at least more since we are matched ,let me know your opinion and thoughts or tips thanks !!

edit: some one said to be clear abut expectations so basically i am traveling next year january, id like to be more involved meaning like day to day or just every once in a while but not in a nosy way maybe more texts eduring the week ,hear more about the kids etc just to bond more before traveling to them

So I’m currently deciding between 2 host families Kansas and New York , I’ve talked more with the family in Kansas we are on our fourth call , they are an amazing family and we really feel comfortable with each other they are two parents and two kids 3,7 , but I got an offer from a family in New York and they also seem lovely they are also 2 parents but 4 kids and they have a live in nanny that has been working with them for couple of years, I like that they offer more money wise like the car is for the kids and personal use and they provide for full gas , and in Kansas they also have a car for the au pair and provide a stipend for the gas , I have a huge dilema cause I like Kansas family but also New York family is also really nice and I have to decide soon because the family in Kansas is asking for a fifth call and it might be to match
