I couldn't figure out how how to post an image as a comment in the other post, sorry.
If you haven't heard of them, it's the weirdest thing you will see all week I'm sure, it's like what alien music could sound like.
Driven across Canada 5 times now but have never been to Southern or Northern Ontario (except the highway). We've stopped in Ottawa a few times on the way to the Maritimes.
Around the end of July, the plan is to explore Toronto and Niagara falls a bit and then, it's up in air...
Is following the coast to Long point, Point Pelee, Sarnia, keep going all the way to Tobermory area, spend a day or three there, then a couple days on Manitoulin island before heading out West a good idea?
Should we skip some of that area and go north instead?
A bit about us, mature couple, dog, pretty much self contained to stay off grid for several days. We do lots of stealth camping so booking campgrounds ahead is not needed. We love parks, lighthouses, epic scenery, waterfalls, trails, swimming and exploring. We do stay at campgrounds once in a while to shower and recharge.
Secondary highways are always fun, it's about the journey not the destination.
Thanks for any ideas you can throw my way. If you are still reading, besides butter tarts, any famous foods / eats / roadside stops we should try while in the area?
