Update and question
I posted before about my fears at the prodromal stage. I am still not 100% sure if I was at that stage, but I did catch the symptoms early. Experienced no vomiting episodes, but did have lasting nausea and stomach pains for the entire 2 weeks between noticing and stopping. Never felt the urge to have a hot shower, though I did notice myself turning the temperature up a few degrees higher (from 40c to 42-45c). Never helped with the symptoms. However I would like to continue thinking that I do have CHS.
ANYWAY… I am now 3 weeks clean today. My parents have started piss testing me and I’m now on a monthly schedule to go back home. I feel really good at the moment, cooking up a storm, laughing so much harder at everything than I ever did when I was getting high all the time.
I also have a question. Normally I can do long-ish stints lasting months at a time, with the mindset always that I’m stopping for good. However, the cravings ALWAYS return and I always manage to convince myself that I’m no longer habitual, and can pick up without smoking every day. Every single time I do that, I don’t even keep strong for the first 2 days. It’s always back to back.
Can anyone share what worked specifically in these situations for them? I usually fail sobriety after a few months and I really don’t want to fall back into that hole again :(
