A new Statistics Canada study found that about a quarter of Canadians aged 25-44 said they were "not at all hopeful" about the future and how democracy works in Canada, compared with about 10% of those aged 65 and over. Interestingly, the study didn't find that being less hopeful about democracy was linked to lower voter turnout - those who felt no hope at all were actually more likely to take part in other political activities.
