Could Canada realistically replace most American products?

It seems like more people deliberately choosing Canadian-made products over American ones lately. For example, instead of Heinz ketchup, many people now buy French's because it's made with Canadian tomatoes. There also seem to be more "made in Canada" labels than ever.
countries like Russia have spent years building local alternatives to many Western products, while China has developed domestic versions of almost everything.
Do you think Canada could ever become mostly self-reliant when it comes to everyday consumer goods?

Do Canadian hotels have to provide recycling?

Staying at a hotel and the rooms have both recycling and garbage bins, but everything goes to trash. The recycling bins are just for appearances lol.

Don't buildings, including hotels, have to provide/participate in a recycling programme?

It's 2026 and I cannot believe this hotel doesn't recycle anything and if guests want to recycle you have to dump it in a blue bin off property.

(It's in Ontario if it differs by province)

Do you still feel the same pride in being Canadian that you did growing up?

Canada Day used to be about getting the family together, celebrating the country and feeling grateful for the generations who helped build it. It feels like more people are mixing up love for their country with frustration over politics and the economy.
Is the feeling you get when you see the Canadian flag strong enough to outweigh what you see in the news?

Is Alberta really at a turning point?

Lately, it seems like every political conversation ends up being about Alberta. Is there really a genuine chance of major changes? Has the nonstop media coverage made it seem bigger than it really is?

Have Canadians really become worse at managing money, or life simply become more expensive?

It's common to hear older generations say people used to budget better, save more, and spend less on unnecessary things. But many Canadians today are already cutting back on dining ot, travel and other non-essential spending just to keep up with rising costs.
Is this really about money habits or is it a completely different financial reality than previous generations faced?

How much more are families spending on summer break this year?

School's out for roughly 2 months, and it feels like most parents rely on a mix of summer camps, family help and shifting schedules just to cover childcare. Some parents have already said they'll need to spend more this year. For those with younger kids, is summer more stressful then the school year when it comes to planning?
