Recovery Advice needed

Hey folks,

I’m planning to have a hysto by the end of the year.
I will be on my own.. I will have someone picking me up from the hospital but will be alone with my cat at home.
Can you please tell me more about the recovery process?
I will do grocery shopping, meal preps and all of that beforehand so I don’t forsee myself carrying anything heavy and exerting myself. The only thing I would need to do is care for my cat (clean the litter, feed her etc).
Any advice is greatly appreciated .

Flair 49 pro piston disjointed

Hey everyone,

I have the flair 49 pro and it was working perfectly for months until this morning.
Ready to start my shot and the plunger was going down with no resistance and water still visible in the brew chamber.
I removed everything and saw that the piston is no longer attached to the brew chamber.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I attached a pic in the comments

Thanks

Born outside Canada / Dual Citizen: Anyone navigated name/gender marker changes when your birth country won't allow it?

Hi everyone,

I am a dual citizen living in Vancouver, and I was born outside of Canada. I am planning to legally change my name and gender marker here in BC, but my country of birth does not allow these changes on my original birth certificate.

Honestly, I am feeling pretty scared about navigating this process. The idea of having two different names and gender markers across two different countries feels incredibly overwhelming and stressful.

I would love to connect with anyone in this group who has been through this exact situation, or hear about your experiences.
-How do you handle international travel with two different sets of IDs?
-Have you run into any major roadblocks?
-How do you manage the anxiety of holding conflicting legal identities?

Any advice, reassurance, or shared experiences would mean the world to me.

Thank you so much.

Need help pls!

Hi everyone,

I am truly losing my mind here!
I am applying for a schengen visa to France from Vancouver, Canada and lost 3 spots for a stupid error on the VFS website.
When I fill all my info and get to the page to book, they say “pick appointment type” but there is nothing to pick from! And the calendar is all locked.
Did anyone face this while booking their appointment? Is there a way around this? Any advice would be very helpful to me.
Thanks

Severe MCAS driven by hormones

I’m honestly exhausted and looking to see if anyone with severe hormone-triggered MCAS can relate.
I’m trans, and we originally discovered my MCAS while I was on testosterone HRT.

About 3 months after starting T, I began having severe flares/anaphylaxis. At first I thought testosterone itself was the issue, so I kept stopping and restarting it, but eventually I had to stop completely.

The thing is: I’ve now been OFF testosterone for a full year, and I still go into severe flares almost every single month around ovulation and menstruation.
We’ve done repeated hormone testing (day 3 and day 21), and my estrogen/progesterone ratio is consistently high (my doctors use the term estrogen dominance for this pattern). Literature often says progesterone and testosterone can stabilize mast cells, but my experience has been the opposite.
Today I was prescribed bioidentical progesterone and I went into anaphylaxis and had to use my EpiPen.

At this point, my allergist considers me a treatment failure:
high-dose H1 + H2 antihistamines (4x standard dose)
ketotifen
LDN
mast cell stabilizers

Most of my testing keeps coming back “normal,” despite the severity of my reactions. The next step is likely Xolair.

What is becoming very clear to me is that hormonal fluctuations themselves are triggering my immune system, regardless of which hormone is involved.
Has anyone here experienced:

-cyclical anaphylaxis with ovulation/menstruation?
reactions to BOTH endogenous and exogenous hormones?
-worsening from progesterone or testosterone instead of improvement?
-any success with ovarian suppression, GnRH antagonists, or biologics like Xolair?

I’ve been fighting this for 2 years and I’m honestly losing hope a bit. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Any personal experience or perspective is welcome and can be helpful to me. Thanks everhone
