Hi everyone!
I have a Toshiba 2857 DF and I noticed there is no convergence ring. I’ve read that this can be the case with older or very cheap CRTs, but I’m surprised to see it missing on my Toshiba, given that it is a home cinema model.
Do you have an explanation? Can I still adjust the convergence if needed, or am I stuck with the factory settings?

Hi all! I have a very strange problem with VCRs.
I have two VCRs: a JVC HR-J770MS and a Samsung SV-DVD3E.
I’m getting constant blue/colored horizontal noise/lines on the screen.
I tested this on two different TVs (a Sony KV-14M1B and a Toshiba 2857DF), and the issue appears on both.
I’ve already tried:
- Two different SCART cables
- Several different VHS tapes
- Cleaning the heads
But nothing changes.
I also couldn’t find anything similar online, and I have no idea what could be causing this.
If anyone has an idea, I’d really appreciate your help! Thanks 😄
I’m having an issue with a Toshiba CRT TV (model 2857DF).
The picture is perfect when using composite video, but when I switch to RGB through SCART (AV1), the image turns completely blue.
