Anxiety is back

Hi all. I (male) had unprotected vaginal sex with a cis-female of unknown status October 2025. Started PEP 17 hrs later and tested negative using 4th generation antibody/antigen vein drawn tests at baseline (week 0), 6 weeks post exposure (2 weeks pep completion), and 13 weeks post exposure (9 weeks post pep completion).

Based on UK/US/Aus guidelines I figured I was in the clear, and my GP thought I was crazy for taking pep and testing so much anyway (based on incredibly low incidence rates where i live).

Now 8 months post exposure I’ve developed a flu type illness and I’ve stupidly gone down the Google rabbit hole. My worry is: that I tested too early (that im an outlier), and that I’m somehow seroconverting 8 months later.

Chat GPT suggests no need to test again and I find the whole experience harrowing, but looking for confirmation that I’m being ridiculous 🙏🏻
