Daily Magic Item for August 19, 2026: Infernal Cord

Today's magic item is the Infernal Cord.

Belt of Constitution that casts Infernal Healing when the wearer eats a critical hit. Useful add-on, or too little value for 1000 dollar-bucks?

Let's ask the following questions:

  1. Would you buy this item?
  2. Would you spend 1.5 times the price to add it to an existing item?
  3. Would you use the item, if you found it? Or is it immediate sell-bait?
  4. Would a GM use the item?
  5. Is there anything cheesy that could be done with it?

In 1851, wealthy slaveholder Edward Gorsuch came for escaped slave William Parker, vowing 'my property I'll have, or I'll eat my breakfast in hell.' Parker's wife blew a horn and neighbors poured in; Gorsuch got the breakfast. Frederick Douglass smuggled Parker to Canada and kept Gorsuch's revolver.

Daily Magic Item for August 8, 2026: Equestrian Belt (Posted Early)

Today's magic item is the Equestrian Belt.
A nice quality of life item for the mounted warrior that lets you ignore a bunch of ride checks and gives you a +4 bonus on the ones you can't. But it's a belt, and we all know what that means.

I also need to ask do we want to cover the stat boost belts tomorrow all together, individually, or just skip them? There's really not much to say about something that increases your main stat and does nothing else. Or is there?

Daily Magic Item for August 1, 2026 (Posted Early): Bladed Belt

I won't be around tomorrow, so posting this now.

Today's magic item is the Bladed Belt.
It's a belt that turns into a melee weapon. It can explicitly be enhanced as if it were a masterwork weapon, and the enhancements carry over to whatever form it takes. Vastly cheaper than the poor Transformative weapon property. If people don't recognize what it is, maybe you can smuggle it into areas where weapons are forbidden. If they do recognize it, maybe you could try the "You wouldn't begrudge an old man preventing his trousers from falling down?"
