Feeling stuck, NITT ICE or drop? (main focus is PhD in semiconductors/related field)

So I'm getting NITT ICE and I wanna apply for PhD programs abroad in the mentioned field and like I don't know if it's possible to do this, I wanna avoid writing GATE because I really don't wanna get in the rat race again but if anyone knows people who've made it like this or what the possibilities are please do share. I might get NITK EEE in CSAB as well so I'm just kinda thinking is a drop year for IIT EE/ECE is worth it.

Pathways for semiconductor/related field PhD abroad

So I'm getting ICE (instrumentation and control engineering) in NITT in josaa and my end goal is to up in a research position that's gonna be focused on semiconductors or related fields and I wanna know if there's people who've made it like this or if it's a realistic pathway via this degree. I also wanna know if it's worth to take a drop and take a chance at IITs/NITs again for EE/ECE. There's also the possibility of getting NITK EEE in CSAB but that's also a gamble cause I can't count on last year to repeat 🙏

Is it gonna be worth it enough to take a drop? Because the main thing is I don't wanna avoid any opportunities or edge to get into a PhD program in a top university abroad and I am not too worried about losing a year plus I've still been maintaining some consistency in jee prep for the possibility of drop year so I'm sort of confident in my abilities to do better.

ICE to Semiconductor related field PhD abroad

Hello! So I'm getting ICE in NITT in josaa and my end goal is to up in a research position that's gonna be focused on semiconductors or related fields and I wanna know if there's people who've made it like this or if it's a realistic pathway via this degree. I also wanna know if it's worth to take a drop and take a chance at IITs/NITs again for EE/ECE. There's also a high chance I can get NITK EEE in CSAB if that seat is available so I'm just on the look out for advice.

Some questions about ICE branch in NIT Trichy

So I've been allotted ICE branch here in round 1 of josaa, and I'm wondering whether I should join it. I want to work in semiconductor and related fields in the future and am open to MS/PhD abroad or in India itself. I'm wondering whether I should take this or ECE in bits goa/hyd or take a drop entirely. I just wanna know if there's people who have gone to semiconductor fields via ICE and what the prospects are in this branch!!
